FS 2020 will need to be released to properly develop a plugin, but see @value1's hopeful comment here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/game-plugin-requests.5839/page-35#post-203550

Hello everybody. I'm an experienced Flight Simulation simmer, but absolutely amateur in motion systems. I'm about to get this 2DOF motion to use with the new FS2020: https://www.njmotion.com/es/motion-systems/21-sv-2-reinf.html
The vendor said me that this motion platform works with SimTools and SimTools web brings me to Xsimulator to find the plugin, but I can't find it.
I understand that I need a plugin to make the platform works with the simulator, otherwise the platform won't move anyway.
Does somebody know if the FS2020 plugin is going to be develop?
In the other hand, as same as the racing simulator, that would be great that the motion platform can simulate the throttle during the ground taxi or in the takeoff, the turbulences and the wheels hitting the ground in the landing. I mean, as well as the racing simulators, It will be awesome if you can simulate not only the pitch, roll and yaw in the air, even the movements you can do in the ground like turns, imperfections in the landing strip, etc.
I hope you can help me to get into motion simulation world.

I have read the last post in this forum but I can't understand a word. Does somebody can explain it for dumbs?
    Thanks.
    Best Regards.

A platform working with SimTools does not mean there is a plugin for every game.

See the earlier comment by the SimTools developer @yobuddy: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-new-flight-simulator-2020.13500/#post-190080

And comment yesterday by the most prolific SimTools plugin dev @value1: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/game-plugin-requests.5839/page-35#post-203550

It is safe to say a dedicated plugin is likely, but does not yet exist, though we do have the generic Joystick plugin, which can be used until a dedicate FS2020 plugin is finalised: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/joystick-plugin.127/

    Thanks for your help.

The https://www.xsimulator.net/community/marketplace/joystick-plugin.127/ joystick plugin seems hard to use for an amateur like me, but can be a good option. I have check the joystick pluging and "download is not available", I don't know why.

I will keep waiting for news about FS2020.

    Regards!

Access to plugins is either via a membership package or forum activity coins, see the FAQs here for details: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/coins-and-how-to-download-plugins.2/

I have written in the Flight Simulator forum asking if it is possible to get telemetry data from FS2020 and they told me the next:

Check SimConnect in the SDK. You can get all the values of the sim with that API. There are also examples in the SDK.

Would some expert translate it to me? Is it possible to develop a plugin if you can obtain telemetry from FS2020?

    Thanks!

@value1, our most prolific plugin guru, is aware and suggested the following: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/game-plugin-requests.5839/page-35#post-203550

"We are also committed to supporting existing peripherals and home cockpits via an updated SimConnect." (https://news.xbox.com/en-us/2020/07/30/microsoft-flight-simulator-steam-track-ir-and-vr-support/)
So I would imagine, there is at least the possibility to connect SimTools with MFS 2020. If there is a quick way to tweak the plugin I cannot tell .

Microsoft is going to release SDK the next August 27th. Literal information below.

    "SDK UPDATE

With the official release of Microsoft Flight Simulator also comes the first public Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK release."

I hope the plugin can be developed from this day.
    Thanks for your help!

If @value1 has time that day I bet its out the same day. Unless they removed or significantly altered something then it should be a simple change over from FSX since its looking more and more like FS2020 is mostly FSX with integrated real-time features and other improvements. FSX uses SimConnect and FS2020 uses SimConnect.

There is no dedicated plugin yet for MSFS2020.

Is there going to be a new forum for Flight Simulator 2020 like there is for the other flight sims?

There will be a plugin specific thread once a plugin is developed, but for now this thread will serve in terms of overview, information and member opinions.

I can see how to make a proof of concept using the SDK/Simconnect, I can see the values needed to derive all forces.... I may give it a try if no one else decides to dedicate some time.

It will be great. I hope the next can helps: Just think about the pitch and roll are measurable by angles not by the joystick position.

In addition, it would be perfect if somebody can simulate acceleration & deceleration in the ground and in the air. As well as, simulate the seat jumping if there are bumping strips (like use to be in racing platforms), for example.

Hope a plugin for MS2020 will come in a short time.

    Regards.

Still need to figure out what they call pitch/roll/yaw but I have so far, heave, surge, sway, rot accel x,rot accel y,rot accel z.
