    Hello All,
I am building a 2DOF simulator for PS4 using SMC3. Electrical connection is done but the motors are not moving. Please help. I am sharing the pictures.

I am presuming you are using Output Testing, if so is a Default Axis Assignment configured?

Thanks for the Reply, Yes I just testing the Output as of now. Once I will succeed with this I will move to next step testing it on my PS4, Later will move for mechanical design. Where I have to configure the "Default axis assignment"? Is it on the interface window?

It is configured in Axis Assignments.

I will definitely go through the document , Thanks for sharing.
Just wanted to post you that, I am able to move the motor yesterday night. Just one question is the motor has to be a Servo motor or normal stepper motor will do? As I noticed the motor is rotating only in one direction only.

A pot would be connected to a motor for positional feedback.

For an RC servo there is other code available: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-simulator-servo-model.6851/#post-77270

Thanks, I checked the setting and the Motors are running now. Output testing is fine but motors not working during the game play. What might be the possible reason ? I tried limiting the axis but still not working. Please suggest.
Do I need a servo motor or these motors are fine ?

Can you please share the wiring diagram for the POT connection to the motors? What changes are required in the Arduino code?

Hello All, I am able to configure the SMC3, motors are running fine. DOF OUTPUT (Output testing) in SIMTOOLS is working but the motors not running during the game. Request your help.

    Video below,

And do i need position sensors for the motors to define the positions?

The video link did not work for me :(

If Output Testing works OK then you have to patch the game for motion and refine a motion profile.

Grab the SimTools manual here and keep it handy: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/rtfm-start-with-the-official-simtools-documentation.117/

See the motion profile tuning tips here: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/steps-to-create-a-motion-profile.228/

Some games have some specific tweaks that are required, see here for tips: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/game-tips-and-fixes.19/category

Hello, I have connected the POT of 100K to the shaft of the motor and slowly increasing the PWMax value, All of a sudden the POT go out of limit and the motion stops. Also on the lower value the Motor trying to turn but unable to turn. Please let me know what I am doing wrong. I have used 100K POT instead of 10K is this why its not working? Just for your information I am using 12V Motor for my prototype.

Hello All, Need your help for my project. I have placed the correct 10K POT but when I start the SMC utility it overruns and stops. Manually I adjust the POT to bring it to center but which turn ON the motor but suddenly it moves and goes out of limits. I am stuck with this, don't know how to proceed further.

You likely need to post pictures of your current settings and a video of what is happening.

    Hello Noorbeast,

Please check the videos for Settings and Motor movement,

    Settings -
    Motor Movement -

Please suggest what I am doing wrong, I have following issues,
    1. Motor stops as the POT goes out of limit.
    2. Motor spins in only one direction
Although I have tried all the various settings, The Motor doesn't spin in both direction as I have seen in various videos. :(

Try this - PWMmin is the minimum duty cycle that is used to drive the motors to their target position, the reason we don’t just use 0 is that due to friction, loads, and other factors, the motors will need a certain minimum current just to get them moving.

What should be the value for PWMmin? Will it also help to move the motor both clockwise and anticlockwise ?
I tried the Value 150 for PWMin and PWMrev as well but no luck.
