    Hello chaps!

Im getting a bit closer to having the parts for my G head system but im still not sure on the motors. It will operate in torque mode so i need to know how many newtons for example 3 kg is on a 10cm motor arm. Im not entirely sure how to calculate it. If i do 3 kg-cm i would need to do 10 x 3 = 30 which is 3 at 10cm? If i convert that to Nm i get 2.94 which i dont think can be correct since my SFX motors are rated at 2.4-7.1Nm

I'd also love to see some suggestions on motors which would be good for this application. I dont want to use a gearbox if it can be avoided put perhaps planetary with a dual way gas damper on the arm could be ok. It would probably be a lot cheaper but i want minimal backlash but the main reason is that I don't want any resistance when there's no forces acting so i can move freely. That said i doubt i will notice much when racing in my SFX150 and G seat rig as they will do all the instant forces. I can keep a very dampened and just have a force on the head. For flying its a bit more important to have a minimal feel of any gears and such

There's also stall current to think about? Is it a good idea to go slightly higher on the NM?

    I will be using a Sabertooth 2x32 at 12 or 24v

    it's proportionnal

    3kg at 10cm = 30kg at 1 cm = 0,3 kg at 1m

    and convert 1kg = 1 dN = 10 N
    0,3 kg at 1m = around 3 N at 1m = 3 N.m
