    Hi guys,

I hope I could fine someone help me because I'm really loosing my mind.
I started a DIY 2 DOF project following the RacingMat tutorial so the main material is:

    - 2 wiper motors
    - Arduino UNO
    - MonsterMoto Shield

The first problem is that the VNH2SP30 on the MonsterMoto Shield doesn't exist anymore.
In the Sparfunk site is out of production.
I tried to bought 3 MonsterMoto Shield in two different places and all those delivered are with VNH3SP30.
I tried to find some information but I didn't really understood if I could have some problem with this.

During the soldering, unfortunately I damaged one of the three MonsterMoto, so restart the soldering with another shield.

Anyway I tried to use it and I strictly followed the connection scheme of RacingMat and I have checked it more times.

    Here start the serious problem.
At the beginning I had some problem with the reverse of both motor. I had the pots in the mid position and the motor is stopped, so ok. When I turned the pots in one side, everything ok, they turned; but when I tried to reverse the position of the pots the motors didn't work.

So I took a step back. I checked manually the correct function of the motors in both the verse without the MonsterMoto Shield, so simply connecting the two phases of the motors to the power supply in both the verse and I obtained Forward and Reverse motion.

So I tried to change another time the MonsterMoto Shield, thinkind the second was having problems.
I re-check the connection scheme and I tried to follow the tutorial in the link below to test manually the motors with the serial monitor.

    https://www.instructables.com/id/Monster-Motor-Shield-VNH2SP30/

    The result is:

    - If I set 3 in the serial monitor (Reverse) both the motors GO.
    - If I set 2 in the serial monitor (Forward) the right motor (A2-B2) GO, the left motor (A1-B1) DON'T GO.

I tried to reverse all the connections except the motor connections( A1-B1 A2-B2) to make a test. My expectation is that now the right motor DON'T go and the left GO. Instead the motor that continue to not turn is the left (A1-B1).

Below I post a video of the test.

I don't know if I'm making the right tests or if I'm making some mistakes but I'm not able to unlock from this situation without any helps of the community.

    I prey you help me.
    Thank you

But really the MM i don't think are a clone, is marked Sparkfun.com. I post a photo below

Sorry for my poor electrical experience, but how can I check the ground isolation without the light in the photo of the topic that you posted?

Anyway, is possible that only one of the motor isn't ground isolated although the model of the motors is the same?

    Thanks

if you are using wiper motors, almost 99% that for sure you have to un-ground them... if you have not unground them do it... search in the forum how to do it, it is simple.

basicly the metal housing of your wiper is connected to the ground current of the inner part of your wiper, so it caind of make a short circuit with the rest of your sim, anyway my explanation is not clear but you MUST unground them and then keep proving your mm

    best regards

    Ok thanks to the suggestion.
Now I'm on holiday...When I will return I try to unmount the motors to check che isolation.

In case of the MM is faulty which is the best shield model to replace it?

    Thanks
