A true next gen flight sim, but the lack of VR puts the brakes on MS FS 2020 for me.

Tempting as the beautiful graphics and world wide scenery are, along with flight models and weather, I don't think even my hard core flight sim father will go back to a pancake flight sim experience, but he has never really gotten into heavies and long haul flight simulation, where MS FS 2020 should really shine.

No VR is a bummer, but I will be running it on a 4K 100Hz 55 inch screen, not very far from my face, so expect it to still look/feel pretty good. Yet another jump onto the hype train  - being a backer of the Pimax 8KX explains everything.

Of interest, is that they are not going to charge me until 10 days before release.

Well, no VR no interest for me. I'll wait until they mature a little more. Will the motion platform software work?

A plugin will need to be developed, which will be some time after release.

But the generic Joystick plugin could be used in the interim.

Looks great and will be better with VR eventually. Not tried any Flight Sims in the past decade -or two? (think JANES by EA) So I am looking forward to dipping my wings into the flight sim stuff. I am thinking of making a 6DOF stewart rig this winter for that kind of sim and keeping my driving rig for sim racing but we will see about that. Please post if a plug in becomes available for the game. Or how to access the generic joystick plugin. I am not sure i see it on the list. Thanks DMAX:)

Its if lives up to half the hype, possibly the biggest improvement in flight, or possibly any simulation program ever - with that I could not just sit on the fence even with no VR. With all the aircraft and high detail airfields included (normally add-ons $) even the price is not that bad.

Sounds Great! I will probably get it soon! Besides, I feel that any publisher has a lot of talented people to pay salary's on and I am willing to support stuff I like. I have been in the game world too as an indy but support for effort is greatly appreciated (even if it's not perfect)! DMAX :thumbs

I am waiting for the VR support. Any VR Flightsim beats a flat panel simulator for me. And no way I am going to go multi monitor just for this.

Totally agree with you, Avee. No VR, no play, no buy. I was so blind wrt the fact that ANYONE could create ANY new flightsim without VR support, that I subscribed for alpha-testing. Spent more time in the forums than I did with the sim.
However, FS2020 is an absolute marvel. There are (combat) flight sims with cockpit interiors and aircraft visuals en par, but the scenery is way beyond anything we've seen before.
The day we have VR support (and a SimTools plugin!) my harddisk will be totally swept clean. Apart from 2-3 combat flight sims only ONE civilian will be left. The day...

Never was into the Heavies, neither. However, compared to FSX and its successors (which never looked any good at low level flight), I actually think FS2020 improved even more in that, that is bush and treetop flying. Thus I'm quite sure we'll see ultralights and helicopters, too.

Fantastic news that this sim is also part of the Microsoft "Game Pass" program for the PC/XBox.

I managed to get in on that $1 upgrade offer last year, and have about 2+ more years left on my subscription...plenty of time to test it out without having to actually buy it.

I'm in the No VR = No Buy camp as well

MS really does not seem to be embracing VR on either platform (PC & XB), not very forward thinking.

Same here, no VR no point in buying, I only have a small monitor for setup and rely on VR for gaming. It looks like it will be very interesting.
