Very nice. You have alot of angle on the actuators. You should tell us how it feels. Maybe post a video on youtube :) then put in this thread.

Regarding the angle, i follow the Ledfoot opinion. Seems the actuators works without strees, the range decrease a litle bit, i fell it's more confortable now.
this is my video on youtube : http://www.youtube.com/user/leandroter7 ... QsEh1jVPaQ

    Very nice clean build.
Are the aluminum profiles 40mm or 1.5? Is your sim sturdy enough?
I'm about to order some profiles.
    Thnx

    Re: Brazilian Cockpit!!! Done!!

Great job leandro. You'll be glad that you took the time to test and find the optimal actuator angle and seat CG point for your rig using Bernard's test procedure.

    Sn4il,

I used the 40x40mm lite profiles in my setup and it is very sturdy. You should have no issues.

Thanks, I´ll try to find it in ARgentina, thanks again!!!!

    I find it!!!!
    Thanks a lot!
    Is very expensive!!! 40x40 cm x 1meter = U$S 25

    Can I use 30 x 30 ??? It will support the weight?

    What do you think?

    Re: Brazilian Cockpit!!! Done!!

I would go with the 40 x 40 lite if you can afford it. I've not seen anyone built one using the 30 x 30 so I'm not sure how that would hold up. If using the 30 x 30, make sure you properly reinforce the area that connects the actuators to the seat platform.

    Re: Brazilian Cockpit!!! Done!!

I imagine before start built, 30x30 is possible, but is not. Like ledfoot told, you need a strong base to suport the seat and the actuators. If you want save some money, use lite profile. 30x30 you can use for shift base also keyboard holder and wheel stand. For nexts cockpit, i will built in 40X40 heavy.

You must remember that all Frex cockpits are made of 30 mm. They do bend quite a bit, especially the steering wheel support, but they do the job of supporting the whole thing without a hitch.

Save yourself some money and build your rig out of 40X40X3mm Aluminium box tubing. The only benefit to 80/20 T-Slot is if you are constantly making changes and adjustments to your frame work.

My frame is more than stiff enough with the use of this profile and the entire cost including triple screen frame was only $350+/-25

To memory I used 13 metres for the rig and 6 mts for the monitor frame. I made all my own brackets from 40X40X6mm Aluminium angle and bolted the frame together with M8 bolts. It took a while longer granted, but saved me a hell of a lot of money compared to 80/20 which was $244/2.4 metre length!!!
