After several queries, thanks to @noorbeast for sharing the @Alexey project http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/how-to-remove-the-end-stop-in-a-potentiometer.7198/. Finally done with cutting off the tab and the stopper to prevent destroying my potentiometer due to levers going out of range coz in my case I only have 180%, not 360%. Here how it works. @noorbeast I did the connections as u say but the problem still there are no movements. I check/tested all the wires and replace them and also add the 2 resistance for engine 4 (for future engine upgrade) updated setup.JPG

You could try testing them with the SMC3 code and its handy calibration application.

Interface settings and set the speed at 57600
    Startup - Output : XS00C (10ms)
    Interface - Output : X1<Axis1a>CX2<Axis2a>CX3<Axis3a>C (10ms)
    Shutdown - Output : XE00C (10ms)

Finally got the movement with motor for that interface, the problem was I can't control the motors. The motor 1 & 3 are still on shaking/vibrating movement while motor #2 is on continuously rotating.

    What pots are being used?

Setting in SMC3 have to be fully sorted before messing with SimTools.

Let's resume the discussion started in my project and bring it to your project which is better.

    Hi Menandro,
first of all, good for the cause he is carrying out for your country and for the children ..... good.
I understand your frustration, I too have been there, don't give up and go on .....
As I said, I'm not an expert in electronics and Arduino codes, and I'm very sorry not to be able to advise you well.
Go for exclusion .... take a potentiometer of motor 1 or 3 that works well and put it on motor 2 .... in this way you understand if it is the potentiometer that creates problems.

Which Wanegain code you have installed, 1_6 or 1_7 ..... in version 1_6 the codes are directly in the program, while in version 1_7 they are in "configh" file.
These numbers are used to define the total angle of movement of the levers which are usually 120 °.

    Hi Fabio,
Thanks for your encouragement. I used XPID_SimTools1_71_6motors_2x32_serial_UNO.

I just noticed earlier that when I pulled out the pin for pot motor#2, still they synchronized with motor #1 whenever I move.

Ok, good idea. let me used the potentiometer of other motors just to see if its the potentiometer itself has the problem.

Its a bit confusing now. A while ago I take the potentiometer from motor #3 to motor #2. It's the same problem, which means it's not the potentiometer that has the problem and aside from that, motor #3 is still working without the potentiometer, it follows to my command. It's a weird thing happened. HAHAHA. I'm losing my mind.

It seems very strange to me that motor 3 follows your command without a potentiometer ....
Make sure that the DIP switches of Saberthoot 1-2 are off, in the picture it is not clear.

I don't know what else to advise you.
Maybe it's better than contacts again PCSHM, Simon or Wanegain

    Hehehe...Indeed it happened that way.

Yes, already switch OFF both Saberthoot 1-2.

Hi Menandro Dalida Jr.Congrats for your work, is awsome!!

I'm in the way to build my own 3DOF motion sim for flights. I still didn't start coz first I wanted learn the basics. I've read all the links that, at the first time, noorbeast share with you and also I ride across the forum to search some examples. Your example (and the Milano Fabio one) is the best that fit with my purpose (I decide that after your last video). I want to build a motion sim but with the 737 structure scaled to a smaller model and with less components, only aesthetics, but what I want is to place two seats. Have the motors you used enough power to move around 200 kg? I thniked about increase the triangle created by the motors area.

    Thanks you!!

    Hi Josh, (Thanks)

Sorry for the late response, very busy with my work.

I suggest you buy bigger motors. At first, I thought that my 3 motors can carry enough loads for my project, sad to say but the 2 motors overheat. (see attached photo).

I end up using only 2 motors and placing a bar to the center to support the weight. In my case, I find the center of gravity in my platform with all components in place including me sitting on the platform, placing a temporary round pipe underneath the platform, and a friend to help to balance my motion simulator (see attached photo). Click the link below for more specific details.

    http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/from-atoz-2dof-arduino-wiper-playseat.4616/#post-45417

Also, as you can see in the platform, the center of my gravity was located a bit left portion because I was sitting on the left side while on the other side's just a control panel that not much loads to carry.

Thanks for your response!! Ok, so you finally build a 2 DOF, is it? I was thinking to buy 440W motors and also I'm between 2 or 3 DOF. 3 DOF will provide better immersion but the price and the complexity increase lot more.

One thing I will hope is the possibility to put two seats because I will run it in VR and run it with my GF, some friend or my parents (that they will love it). Because the VR I'll not put wood structure for controls and that means less weight. For that I thing my future rig should be 2 DOF, because the weight and simplicity alltoghether. What do you recomend? is a 2DOF a good immersion (also for VR)?

Thank you so much!! Enjoy your gear!!

    Hi
    Hi Josh,

On that case you’re using VR, There’s no much weight to carry. I think u should go for the 3DoF. You feel more realistic when you have the 3 axis (Roll/Pitch/Heave). Just choice the right motor. If ever you have no companion during the game, place some alternative counterweight next to your seat, just to make sure the equality to the center of gravity during your game.

Hope these helps you and Good Luck to your project.

Feel free to share your project progress, I’m really excited to see the results.

    Keep Safe.

Thanks!! I put the project in the "Long term" folder because new important expenses are comming for me. Anyway, I'm still doubting if 2 or 3 DOF because of complexity, limited space (I'll put it in the loft and is a house with a very steep roof, so space is limited especially for heave), and also budget so I'm pretty autoconvinced that the 2 DOF is the way for me in a 80-20 ratio. In the meantime I'll think in how to get a similar heave sensation, maybe a spring between the cardan and the plataform base, IDK.

I'll start putting the computer and a couple of seats where the gear will be placed in the future and step by step I'll adquire the needed items, for example, I builded a DIY Buttkicker from a 2.1 PC sound system by less than 10€, well, first job done xD. I'll put this step in the future project in a new thread and I'll let you know.

Really thank you!! Keep safe you too!
