6 DOF Flight Sim Rig

    Once everything was fitted, I used three scales under the base and balanced the rig with me in it via adjusting the seat position. Were that balance point needs to be can vary quite a bit depending if you have something like a DD wheel, which can weight quite a bit.

    Also thinking of having the seat 500 mm lower than the attachment points for centre of mass? But need to be careful the foot rest doesn't hit the actuators.

    Yes it did, as I had to account for a heavy DD wheel. Also, both my two 6DOF rigs had a center of mass below the attachment points, although it is not really necessary anymore, with the right software and 6DOF math that can change the position of the roll center. Although physically lowering the center of mass will reduce the amount of possible load on the motors if that could be a issue.
