Hi @adgun with my 6dof im going to have to try using the 1605 ballscrew with the AC servo motor as i have already bought 4 sets for the 4DOF Car simulator , as i have invested a fair bit and dont want to change the Ballscrews to 1610 just for the time being .

The plan is to see how easy it would be to retrofit the AC servos to my current 6DOF actuator ( turns out it was easy ) and stage 2 was to Build this 4DOF setup .. actually just today got the Flex drive coupler for My Big actuator so once i get FlyPt running with Thanos's AMC-AASD15A Controller i can post a video .

Mind you , will check out the 400 watt version to see how the specs/Pricing match up , so thanks for the heads up

From what I've seen @wannabeaflyer2 the 750w servos are about the same price or a little cheaper than the 400w servos (ac servos of course). Makes no sense to get smaller if there around the same. And using a 1605 ball screw will draw less current than a 1610 or 1616, the only downside is that you potential top mm/s speed will be less. Im still trying to decide myself if I want to use 1605 or 1610....

Hi @thecures the actuator design Drawings are in my other Post as @hannibal mentioned , if your asking about the aluminium profile its 20 x 60 bought form a uk company called Ozznest ,, not got thi link at mo but will post it when i log on tomorrow.. cheers Guys an

Hiya @Brett Loxton i went for the 750 watt version came to the same conclusion ref bang for bucks and a little overhead built in ...still waiting for some 30mm id Linear Bearings and my FK12 Leadscrew bearings so finger crossed only a few more weeks before the actuators are all assembled ..

Not bitchin about China deliveries as you knnda know what you signed up for when you buy from ali express :) but hey the price was still right LOL so ill bite that bullet

another Milestone post guys .. well its more like got some stuff sorted today :) 1st Off managed to sort out my Issues with Getting FlyPt_ Mover to work ,, comm port problems on my test Laptop so used another PC manged to get the com port set to the right Baudrate and Voila I have controlled actuator movement .. also printed @Thanos Thingyverse 3D Housing set and 12+ Hours later Job done ....

The only Downside of 3D printing is the Looooooooonnnggg Print times and seeing as how they reckon not to leave then unattended , Bugger it means your tied to house for Print duration :-( But hey the result was worth it in my eyes so Big thanks again @Thanos ya'll Done some dam Good Work with this housing and Controller . learning more with each play day :)

    more mini updates to come

Forgot to add these pics as well , Still waiting for the FF12 Ballscrew bearings and Linear Bearing for Rod ..But my Alt SFX mechanics look like they will do the job .. feeling the weight of the 30mm OD 20mm ID rod seems Overkill to me But Saxxon that did the original SFX 100 design/Build Did great job and im guessing he already factored This so it stays :)

A few pics of actuator assembly at various stages :)

Cad drawings will be released once i confirm tha last part fits as intended and she runs as smooth as Butter off hot knife ... ( thats the plan )

Cockpit extrusion in final stages of material ordering process ... so still gonna say watch this space

back again guys more pics as thats all i can do for moment still waiting for parst Bo HOO :-( any ways had a mini blitz on 3d printer and small part designed using Fusion 360 .. i have 2 options in mind fore the AC servo Motor support at the top of the actuator ,
1 round plastic rod 16 mm OD with 6 mm ID 73 mm long
    Or
2 3D printed alternative to the Original SFX part tried to make it to reduce print times..

sett attached pics ... Thats all for now more progress once last actuator part arrives

More bits made today so one more step closer to final actuator assembly . dont mean to bombard you guys with pics LOL , its just a way of letting ya'll know progress is being made ( slowly so far Though )

some pics of the internal arrangement of the actuator . Spider / Rod Mount / ballscrew :)

Printing takes sooooolong LOL so 4 more motor supports to print over weekend :-( but at least this project is moving in the right direction, Got fed up waiting for last item needed (30mm Liner bearing assy ) to complete the actuators , so made a temporary item to allow some testing to start , so more pics but soon should be posting my trials and tribulations with getting motion via software :)

This assembly went together as planned with only on minor fixable hicup , Messed up when ordering Actuator rod and forgot to allow extra 20mm to rod length , because my version of sfx is 150mm stop to stop .. easily fixable ..

so i am adding the latest version of my CAD attempts for viewing and critique ..

having good fun setting up system and software and making progress ( parts supply being the holdup and yep plastgic taking hits :) ) anyways so far i have gotten to the stage where im using FlyPT Mover V2.6 to communincate with Game / AMC-AASD15A controller and Actuators and have to report its working well , missed some info and settings during initial test but with help from Members here its now sorted and working well for bench testing phase.. few pics added as new seat arrived but Cockpit frame parts still to be delivered ..

Hi Guys Quick clip form my session today , Before you say it Yes Driving or should that be staying on track was Crap LOL but more interested in making sure all the software and hardware worked as it should , than checking clean lines and Race times ...

My GT25 FFB wheel still note setup correctly ( sounds like a good excuse to me ) so loads to learn and even more work on learning the whole system to come

Oh oh be warned deaf guys dont worry about sound so im guessing this will be Loud .. but after these initial tests i'll be disassembling actuators to add grease to ballscrews and spray internals with PTFE Lub

more material and parts arriving and seems i have good Uk supplier for 40x80 aluminium Profile for Sim cockpit Build "Motedis" has a Uk supplier so my new fave shopping site :) Placed test order as i was not sure but all parts ordered were bang on the money with short delivery times .. More plastic flexing to come :) ..

Did not get connectors this delivery but they should be here soon so pics are just mock up of Proposed assembly ..

seriously good quality and cut sizes were bang on , have to add the weight of bits so far is circa 20 KG for Frame
8 Kg for Omega Race Seat and 4 actuators at circa 8 Kg Each & one fat arsed crash test dummy at 100kg 's is a hell of a lot mass being chucked around but these actuators should do this easy peasy without stressing ...roll of final Frame assembly ....Traction loss anyone :)
