I use it when I have guests over. I can turn on the assists and my guest rig only runs on a laptop so I'm limited to what it can can play. I have a dedicated server in a VMware machine on another PC and we can both connect to that.

I have rFactor2. It's useful if I have net connection issues which happens frequently or if I'm going to be away from home a lot, I let the iRacing subscription lapse for a month or two.

I find it has more of a "rough & ready" feel. More like a real race car than the slightly sanitised and smoothed environment of iRacing. iRacing definitely wins for competition though, I've never even taken rFactor online.

I used to love the dirt mods on rfactor as well as the league races even though I never managed to win one. I ended up removing it and all the mods to save space on my SSD.

I'm planning to spend a lot of time in rFactor2 soon. Mostly for the reasons mentioned above plus modability - a little bit nervous to start trying to mod though!
