Hello, if you're reading this you're probably wondering what i need help with. I'm planning on making a 3Dof platform. As I wan't it to be inexpensive, I didn't want to blow the budget on fancy motors so I opted for less powerful ones. This does mean I have to have some kind of support whether it's in the middle or on the outside. I have noticed that many people use springs like this: [IMG]
However, springs are either to weak or really expensive do you know what i could use?

I took a somewhat unique approach with my compact 3DOF and repurposed the tilt mechanism off my high end DX office chair: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/dx-compact-simulator.5866/page-13#post-81922

The upside of this is that it is designed and calibrated for a user + chair by default and is also adjustable. The downside is that it travels through a small arc, though I use that to advantage in things like surge settings, and it has a useful but limited range for heave.
