    my build is coming along like a snail.... i started to work on the limit switches, and the anti-rotation stuff. im hoping to electrically test next week once i finish up one of the power supply / sabertooth / arduino section.

    4-5 months later, i dont even know if anything will work at this time!

    Fist time I sit on it is March 8th 2019.

    I got the platform triangle on. Tested all the forces. All is good for now.

    Will it support a human weight? Time will tell.
    Using a lot of epoxy to put everything together.
    Glue some parts, wait 24h, glue some more.

    I had a few fans that were waiting for a long time to be installed. Since it had no platform, I took the time to install them. It even more cool now. :thumbs

    Today, I worked on a system to level up and down the pedals. I measured many position on tubes to drill adjustment holes.

    Then I stick 22.5 degrees cut tube to give the right angles to the pedals holder.

    I tested the position of the seat. Seattime told me to be careful about the access to the seat. I failed miserably. That thing is so high, it's gonna be a pain just to get in.

    Then I told my self, lets try the pedals holder just to see. I had to back up the rig so I get enough space. crowbars work.

    Right after the picture, one of the started to break. The glue was not dry. Quick, I tried to pull them off. I ended up breaking both of them and make the seat drop off. How stupid can you be?

    When you want to do things too fast, you end up breaking things. Fortunately, only the 22.5 degrees tubes broke off. I have them repaired, but I took a picture to remember.

    You know what I hate? That little voice inside your head that says that you will never succeed, it won't work, it's too hard. I ear it all the time. What a bugger.
    Now, it tells me that everything that I want to put on my carbon fiber rid is too heavy. That the tubes are gonna break. Nothing will work. Etc...
    I learned with time that you should never listen to that voice (unless it tells you that your life is in danger). You know why? Because that voice never ever tells you: "I told you so".
    It lives in the present and don't care that much about the outcomes of a project.
    If you succeed, or even fail, another voice will tell you: "Wow, you learned a lot!".

    So, I keep on banging at it. Even though I have no Idea how I will make it strong enough.

    i hope to sim with you online when you are fully functional, and also when i am functional.
    i finally made my anti rotation device.
    i will soon step into the world of epoxy.
    my mixing nozzles and gun are ready. i just hope the one set of 3M 2216 is enough to mount the rod end to the carbon fiber tube.
    you are pretty confident with the 3M DP420? it is so much cheaper than 3M 2216

    Looking back at the video I kept in the thread, you point out to me that I was using the wrong epoxy. I wanted 2216. LOL

    2216 is some expensive stuff.. i thought u had breakthrough with DP420..

    i dont want to discourage u, i just see u spend all this time to rework frame.. im just wondering if better motors would have handled the weight of your wooden frame...

    its like i see @SilentChill 's videos with his 6dof with a wooden frame, seemingly heavy looking.... his build looks like it can handle two people in the hexapod..lol

    So far, DP420 haven't show any weakness, but I haven't done any real test yet.
    My motors could have eject me from my wood rig. This is why I cut their powers by half in SMC3.
    It was more about inertia during rapid change. Throwing a big weight around (and I am not talking about me :mad: ) was putting a lot of stress on the actuators.
    The only real problem I had with the other rig was an actuator losing its center, and it was not always the same actuator.
    I have a theory that the angle of my attachment was not optimal (still not is) and that steep angles in wide movements are reaching mechanical limitations. I need to look into this (bend the supporting rods).

    hmmm..if weight stressing actuators... now you make me wonder if i should put pnematic dampeners...

    also, about optimal angle.. yea i would imagine there is a sweet spot..
    so i follow @SilentChill @wannabeaflyer2 and sixdegreesofflight hexpod dimensions since they have tested by trial and error... and help folks in the community

    A simple look at your helm joint at the middle position will tell you if its straight. Mine are not right now. And the problem was more apparent when I was playing Elite, which had wider movements.

    I've read somewhere on the forum (and of course, I can't find it back) that to make the Pimax working with the original motion compensation, that it had to be set on before starting the game. I tried with Dirt Rally. Set it out before the game, during the game, it does work for me.
    I must be doing something wrong if someone succeeded.
    Oh crap!

    I'm bugging Pimax about making their motion compensation usable.

    I tried to integrate the hand brake, but I found out that the design was really not adapted to my rig as it is. So I decide to let it go so far, and redo it with carbon. Way lighter.

    There is so much weak points to the rig, I'm afraid it collapse even before I try to solidify it.
