    Hello everyone!

After reading all the great stuff of Arduino based FFB-Wheel, i started my own project.

My steering wheel, for many years has been Logitech G25, which i've been very happy with...although i hardly even used ffb with it. G25 has very annoying rattle-noise when effect-level raises.

    Low-cost is the key here.

Started with ordering Leonardo-board + some stuff like encoder and prepairing my wipermotor (~40w) for DD-test.

    1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg

DD was fail. Barely no torque at all -> So i did quick winch-motor test (power about 1kw) which suprisingly had almost equally low torque at 0 rpm....it did draw lots of current and got hot instantly -> no go.

So, after few iterations i did gear reducers for wiper motor with 3d-printer (gears, v-belt- and finally tooth belt pulleys)

    3_1.jpg 4.jpg

In the same time i did some research of games that were good with ffb and playable with low-end laptop, which i used in my workshop. Supprisingly this very old racing title rFactor came up with plugins like RealFeel + Leo's FFB... Just amazing, how different that made game feel and i mean it felt better in all terms (in my opinion even better than PCARS/PCARS2/AC).

Final gear reduction is about 16 and on my 350mm wheel that means a bit over 6kg stall-force, measured on outer side of rim.

    5.jpg 7.jpg

    I integrated another arduino-board for shift-light + gear-indicator, which i put on face-plate.

    6.jpg 9.jpg 10.jpg

Pedals are from G25, shifter is another project mixed with metal / 3d-print, connected via zero delay usb-board to pc.

After extensive fiddling, all started to work quite well together, although the looks of the wheel is VERY clumsy.

I may add some pictures/info later, but it is what it is ;)

I'd like raise hat to all you great members, who are willing to share valuable info here!

Hello! Can you drop wheelcheck csv log files from "step test" with 300ms 900 degree, and 600ms 1800 degree.
    Thanks.

Gee, thank pal! Yea 300/900 are default. But there also should be such kind f thing that resumes the soft lock in that test. On default it is off. Will be good to find out what is the version of a wheelcheck or a set up that remains with soft lock feature during the step test out there.

dr.feelgood you made step log 2 test for force linearity. But I was talking about "step test" itself. The very first one, from three of them) If you don't mind will be greate to have it)

Ok, I got it. I don't see option for soft lock. Wheelcheck is version 1.72.

Here are both results.... what they tell me?

Yeah, I think you can't get much more with low power wipermotor.... :)

    Hi!

I have been burning several Leonardo-boards lately. Finally i concluded that it was because of misbehaving sim-motor... When sim-motor had major erratic movement (basicly sparks on carbon brush, misalignment) -> burnt leonardo on other usb port, sigh...

Well, after fixing things, i have been driving and tuning wheel and sim.

Usually i have around 60% max power in use. Some games has lots on inertia in their force, then i have tune that down and other has lots of static friction, so sometimes that needs reduction, otherwise quick steering is too hard :)

    This is test-video...

    Hi!

I did small modifications at the end of 2019. A got motor and wheelsaft lower, not so clumsy anymore.... Also attached gear-flaps with magnets/microswitches.
