Thank you so much bro! :D

I tested it, but unfortunately it doesn't work correct :(
pitch and roll "seem" to be work correct but, other values still have delay :(
anyway, I am really appreciated for you effort and I emailed ipacs to support official telemetry ouput feature
hope that they add it soon :D

    Welcome!
Yes, I know, as I mentioned in the comment above, surge, sway and heave only update very slowly. I'm in contact with IPACS.
Ehm o_O IPACS do officially support telemetry ouput; unlike many other game developers, IPACS have built a proper API into their Aerofly FS 2 :thumbs.
We'll see if I have an issue with the plugin or they with the API ;)

Hi Thomas thank you very much, i can now use pitch and extra3 for roll with a good refresh rate with my g-seat, now i can enjoy aeroflyfs2 again

Looks to be that surge, sway and heave are on a 1 second update...

So I carefully checked the data output of Aerofly FS2 and the update rates of angles are 10 Hz, the update rates of accelerations only 1 Hz.
That's no good of course for a motion platform.
This behaviour has just been confirmed by Aerofly as intentional.
"The external DLL was never meant to stream this [telemetry] data in real time … so we had to adjust the rate." o_O

Why bother to output telemetry if it is not real time? Obviously they are having issues in other areas of their 3D engine and are looking for ways to save cycles.

Can SimTools be tweaked to simulate accelerations from absolute angles?

Pitch, roll, yaw, surge, sway and heave form the six independent values of the six degrees of freedom. So intrinsically it is not possible to derive one from the other!

Actually i was thinking about Extra1,2,3 - are they working now on 10hz? Its a shame about heave and surge but at least my platform would work without them. My recently upgraded gseat will have to wait.

One can calculate pitch from pitch speed but you cannot derive surge from pitch speed.

Rather than start a new thread, I have taken all of the tips here and applied to DCS. My question is... I fly Helo’s and was wondering if Roll, Extra1, Extra2 or Extra3 is preferable for banking?

    Edit.

It appears that these are not utilised within DCS.

Norrbeast - I don't think Extra 1 and 2 are used in the DCS plugin, but in other flight sims they are used as an alternate approaches to pitch and roll.

I tried your plugin, but looks like the game think I'm upside down when I'm 90 degree banking to the left

Please post pictures of all of your settings, as it sounds like something may be messed up.

Using Roll ? Roll has never worked. Use extra1 & extra 2 instead.

the extras are only affecting the moment you touch the stick....if my plane is flying 45 degree, the extra level itself out....I want it to stay banked at 45 degree....

surge and sway works...but they have like 1 second delay....which is kinda annoying

Many of us want this, but as @Spit40 said, this does not work in the AeroFly plugin.

You really want to stay at 45 degrees? It doesn't feel like that IRL due to the centrifugal force. What I do is make it bank in proportion to roll/sec then uses the Filter settings to make it subtly return to neutral, so you stay banked for a while and imperceptably return to neutral if you remain in a tight bank for a while. The advantage of this is that if you tighten the bank even more the roll/sec kicks in again and you get the sense of even more banking. These motion cues are much more useful than absolute angles - does your platform even go to 45 degrees? Mine's about 15 degrees.

Might be a little different with helo's.

I'm assuming VR by the way. All this stuff matters more in VR.
