Thanks for the heads up, but without deadzone added the motors bounce back and forth like crazy.

It will be a few days before I can get back to the project and hook up the electronics again. I did get something done today though:

As you can see, I made a slight math error. My motors are too far in, I do not have any angle to the connecting rods. I might (ok, will have to) move them out and add a bit to the outer edge for mounting holes.

The rig is up and running. Manual movements are great, or seem so. Just need to work on syncing all DoFs right now. They all seem to work though. Nifty :)

Tried the DCS plugin but movements are jerky and not coordinated. There is some amount of Saberteething to expect though :D

Soon :) The movement is still very twitchy, working on that now.

Fixed the jerkiness (is that a word?) by increasing PID to 4. I will try reducing it one step at a time to see if a lower value works as well.

Really, everything I am learning is from @SilentChill 's posted experience. Really need to hunt him down and give him "the hug" :D

    MOTION!

Movement is a bit jerky due to my ability to slide the little...er...sliders back and forth :)

Oh, I did do a test with me sitting on it. A couple of things....ouch and Ouch! :D Surge and sway are very very very quick.

Now I just have to mount my seat, arms, rudder mount.....those things.

Also did some testing in X-Plane 11 and DCS, both worked pretty well. Still need some fine tuning but I am impressed.

I downloaded that yesterday but have not yet gotten around to playing with it. I did read the thread though

    It's ALIVE!!!!

Pretty much finished. I still need to install the 12v relays; 30amp for the power supplies and a 200amp main for the battery to the Saberteeth.

Spent a hour or so flying around in DCS, motion is a bit jerky/grainy but I have not played around much with axis settings/smoothing etc. I did test motion with PID set from 1-4 but did not feel a difference. Need to work on the smooth start settings as well. When I flip between game window and Simtools settings it makes a wild jump back to center each time. Hopefully I can get this movement less violent ;)

The base steel frame in all its glory (picture Vana White waving her hand)

    IMG_20190406_102235889.jpg

A comfy office chair mounted on the frame to form around my rear...aspect. The stock mounting system is very handy for this. And I drilled many holes to adjust my CG just in case my calculations are off. (They did not seem to be!)

    IMG_20190406_105027825.jpg

I added a board between the seat and the frame so I could adjust height/angle, etc.

Not the greatest video, I had asked my wife to keep the motors and the base in the shot but she got distracted with our dog. The majority of the video only shows the floor and paws :D

I did take a video of her riding the roller-coaster but after the expletives that she used I was advised not to publish it :p

Still need lots of tweaking and fine tuning. I have 15% smoothing on all DoF but I am thinking of reducing this further.

Borrowed the power supplies off the 3DoF to augment the two 30amp LED power supplies. I am thinking of making both rigs work off shared resources like power supplies, saberteeth, etc.
