Hello everyone, just joined the forum!
There are lots of good stuff at Xsim forum that I would love to learn.
Planning of building a 2DOF cockpit, maybe a 6DOF if I lose my mind into it. :)

    Hello Xsimulator, hello all !
My name is Florian and I'm from France.
Just join your community. I've read a lot of threads and I have to read a lot more !
I plan to build a 2dof seat mover for console ( PS4 / PC2 and AC ) but I have a lot of questions to answer before !
My goal is to build a standalone mover ( i.e. with a raspberry for simtools and an arduino for motor control or a lattepanda or ... :) ).
Hope I'll find the needed help/answers here.
See you on my first thread, it will come soon !
    Thanks

    Welcome @marcelou.

A mini PC may be an easier route for SimTools.

For your 2DOF have a look at existing member builds, that may help you refine your own project ideas: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

You will find plenty to get you started in the FAQs, from design software, dimension of sims, to PSUs, pots, motors, control hardware options, plus heaps more like dashboards: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

There is a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Feel free to ask questions on your build thread, the members here give freely of both their time and expertise.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi!
Thanks for the great forum, have been a wannabee for (too) long.
I'm an electrical engineer that works with flight simulators for a living (at a swedish aircraft manufacturer).
At home, racing and trucking simulation is the melody!
My current rig (PC) has a racing chair, and an MDF/wood construction for the G29 wheel with an adjustable height (so that my children can drive), three 32" fullHD giving an 180 degree otw.
The chair is bolted to a subwoofer box, no buttkick effect :(
Planing to upgrade my rig to 3dof (2+tracrion loss), and will use the forum to adress all bits and pieces.
Arduino and DC motors is the plan at the moment, and a home made steelframe 20/25mm square steel tube...
