Gday folks, this is my 2DOF front motor mounted seat mover project. It's quite a compact setup which is nice if you don't have a lot of room to work with. After seeing some of the incredible build threads on here i plan to rebuild it as a rear mount rig, using U frame aluminum extrusion when i can afford to.

It's running DC motors with JRK 12v12 controllers and LED power supplies. The seat is mounted on a cut and welded car drive shaft. A good mate helped me out with some wiring and had a spare seat to donate to the project.

The wiring is a mess at the moment, didn't want to do too much to it until i have the artic cooler setup running. At the moment it has a push pull running with two 80mm fans for intake and a 120mm taking some seat away. The JRK's barely get warm at all even after hour long league races.

I 3d printed out the JRK mounts that Lol4 designed and a couple of 80mm adjustable fan holders to help cool the JRK's.

I have also 3d printed out the artic cooler mounts that ZED from these forums designed, just waiting for a friend to be able to drill and tap some threads so the JRK's can be screwed in rather than sticking them to the heat sinks with double sided thermal transfer tape.

I made a cheap sequential shifter and handbrake setup from bits and pieces i had laying around. The shifter is running off an arcade joystick and the handbrake is just running off a switch.

Do you have any photos of the construction phase you can share?

Unfortunately i don't, didn't really think about taking pictures at the time. Will defiantly take plenty of pics when i start re building it as a rear mount rig.

Do you think there's any chance of me getting a DIY license for the V2 software? I plan to keep updating this thread as i work on more parts of the rig and start the shoulder mount rebuild.

This is the criteria to be met and once it has been then apply:

To qualify for a free license:

    • You must be building a true DIY motion simulator. (Not built from a kit or purchased from a simulator seller, a model simulator does not qualify.)
    • Have a unique build thread or Showcase in DIY Simulator Projects. (The thread should show some effort, which means it should show progress to the testing phase.)
    • Have been a member of the community for at least 30 days.

Sorry to be a pain noorbeast, it seems like i have ticked all those boxes to me ... just wondering where you feel i am not so i can have a chance to work on it.
#1 - My rig is a true DIY project, defiantly not purchased from a simulator seller. #2 - I don't have much of a build thread going as such since i didn't think to take photos as it progressed, it is however defiantly a Showcase. And i have been a community member for a few months now.
Appreciate your help on this, cheers.

Thank you so much noorbeast, sorry for the hassle. The email was hidden away in junk folder. Setting V2 up now, cannot wait to get it going :)

It is the universal joint from a cut down car tailshaft.
