Question What are potentiometers and motor shield

    Hi I am making a 2dof motion simulator. I am not completely sure about what potentiometers and motor shields are needed for or how many I need. Any advice and insight it appreciated. Thank you

    I recommend you head over to the FAQ section and start reading. You'll find that most of your questions will be answered.

    I'm assuming your talking Arduino setup.

    For a 2dof you will need:

    2 - 10k linear potentiometer used for position sensing so that simtools can know the position of your motor.

    1 - motor shield (something like monster moto shield can run 2 motors)
