    Hi guys,
I'm a new user with a passion for SIM.
I come from Italy and live in Monza, 5 km from the racetrack.
After driving a lot on a fixed location, I would like to create a dynamic location.
My dream is a 6DOF, but it is very difficult, so I try to start with a 3 DOF.
This I think is the best forum and especially the most active.
I hope to find the answers to my 1000 questions ....
    Thanks in advance.
    Hello

    Hi All

    Anton here from the UK.

I have been following a number of builds on this forum for the past few years, and finally have some time to focus on creating my own compact rig!

Plans are to start with detachable 2DOF compact desk racer style and move on from there....

Really looking forward to getting stuck in! I do have some parts questions... Is it best to start my own project post now, or ask a part specfic question in the Q&A/FAQ section?

    Thanks

    Anton

    Welcome @Eloi.

360° flight simulators are rare, because of their size, cost, safety consideration and somewhat complexity.

Doing some research and planning is time well spent. You can search for 360 flight simulator projects using the Google Custom Search function on the Recent page: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/find-new/posts?recent=1

I am not sure what career path you have in mind but when it comes to motion simulation and associated approaches there is a lotto learn and many different paths to similar goals. So doing some research and planning is time well spent.

Good luck with your flight sim project.

    Hi all,

My name is Aurelien, from France.
I made a 2 dof seat a few years ago, inspired by g-seat concept.
It was a first good experience but the hardware was not very good (cheaper motor and controller) so I ended up dismounting it.
I'm now looking for an other 2 dof project, I will start a thread asap !

Glad to be part of this community !

    Hello,

my name is Thomas and I am from Germany. I recently got started with Sim Racing and am interested in upgrading my rig. A few days ago I stumbled across motion platforms and am hooked to the idea now, possibly as an interesting DIY project, too. Unfortunately I don't have much DIY experience or tools at hand, but some electronics knowledge and a math and programming background.

I am not sure yet as to which route I will go - commercial or DIY and how many DOF -, but I will try to wade through the information here and provide some of my own whenever I can.

    Cheers,

    Thomas

Hi, my name is Hugo, I'm from The Netherlands. As a former motorbikeracer I've always had a keen interest in sim-racing. After flying on a real 6DOF Flight simulator at KLM Royal Dutsch Airlines (way back in 2000) owning a motion simulator has always been on the top of my wish list. With ordering an Insecta Tech CV-1B 6DOF a few weeks ago, this dream is about to become reality! Will be using it for sim racing, rally and flying: all in VR. While waiting, I'm building a special VR mancave for it.

    Hello!

My name is Robin- I'm a game developer from Vermont, USA-!

I'm here because I do a lot of work with a local Makerspace, and they've been filling out a "VR lab" for VR developers. I have somehow convinced people here to fund and help me build a motion platform for it : >

So now I am doing research and combing over the DIY builds- This website has been so so useful, since initially we were considering designing it from scratch.
Once we finalize plans, I'll post an update thread! Super glad to join this community!
