Unfortunately I am away from home a lot, so not being able to track it is really problematic for me.

I have emailed Pimax support, but really don't expect they will be quick or helpful.

I replaced the Pimax face foam with the vive one. You have to bend it slightly to get it to fit without obstructing the lenses but it’s now 10 times better.

The distortion is fixed. The strap is still really uncomfortable though. It’s very front heavy.

Took about a day before it had anything to show. Don't know who delivered it, as I was out and the Wife signed for it.

For me the outer lens distortion seems to be always there, so far its effect depends on the game/application that you are using.

I was referring to the distortion I was getting across the entire FOV. Objects in the center of my vision were even warping if I moved my head a few degrees. The distortion on the periphery is still there. I don’t think that can be fully eliminated.

There are some straps you can buy that are like 20 bucks that make the fit more like a cap than something hanging off your face. If I find comfort an issue, I might just get one of those and not bother waiting for the Pimax accessories. Going to be another year before we see those, if ever.

If you meant the DAS foam replacement, that is padding that goes at the back of the strap (i.e. sits on the back of your head). It's much softer than the stock foam and reportedly makes the strap much more comfortable. Most people recommend the thicker 20mm version.

My mistake. Didn’t read it correctly. I meant the VRcover for the face plate not the one for the deluxe audio strap.

FYI this reddit discussion has a video of the sparkling some folks are getting, and varying amount of success fixing it, for example "I reseated the cable, as many suggested, and the issue got worse." and "I had almost given up and then I reseated it after blowing some air into the dp connection m/f ends. Then it worked."

2 days after receiving tracking number, still no information available when trying to track.

Completely in line with the entire Pimax experience thus far.

Just tried out DCS and the image and FOV is just beautiful. I can read all the gauges clear as :). I initially thought I had some issues with the headset, but it turned out to be a combination of the hot weather and the extra load on the GPU causing the GPU to overheat. Changed the fan profile in Afterburner and all is well. Becoming very impressed as I sort this all out.

Nice to hear. Can't wait to get busy with mine. I'll have to do it for now without a base station however, very annoying but I think it will be OK for seated sims. The only thing I want it for anyway.

I put in a ticket for the 'Sparkles' also, not there at startup, or if you re-seat the cable, but after a few minutes they re-appear. Pimax requested a video and I have sent them one. Really does not stop me from enjoying most of my favorite games, but in dark areas it is noticeable.
