Well just got the email that this will now be delayed until end of April 2019! Gave some lame excuse about a quality problem affecting "0.07%" of units. Interesting that these were due to be shipped on Dec 7th and the email was sent out on Dec 4th with no other prior warning that there was any delay or issue. :( So no DD1 for me, can't wait that long.

Surprise, surprise, Fanatec delaying products. I'm over the customer service and terrible marketing at Fanatec. And let's not forget the price gouging on products, can't buy a uni hub for pc anymore, gotta be pushed towards a xbox/ps brand hub that costs twice as much for no other reason than support/branding I don't need or want.

I can honestly understand why people want to go a known brand when it comes to DD wheels, easy software support and setup and good and easy to access range of addons/wheels. And I was really excited that someone was finally bringing DD to the retail market/end-user. But Fanatec really do stink in general as a company, fingers crossed Thrustmaster or someone else comes the party so we've got some market comp to bring the pricing down and the quality up. OSW kits don't count as it's not ready for the average sim racer.

On a final note, the price for extended warranty on those Fanatec DD bases is an insult, but knowing Fanatec products and going off the "a quality problem affecting "0.07%" of units" , I'd say an extended warranty is needed. Sad that Fanatec took the extended warranty as another way of grabbing more money though, but it's to be expected as they've shown to do this on all their products.... *cough* inverted v3 pedals *cough*

Just my 2 cents ;) , hopefully you have no issues once your bases finally arrive!

Really wanted one, but couldn't wait the whole European winter.. so bought an OSW from SimracingBay but anticipated to be struggling with the setup, the software and the coil hanging from the rim. But I can confirm that none these worries where necessary. The hardware setup was easier than setting up a new TV, the software is as plug and play as any TM or Logitech (you have a few more options, which could be seen as an advantage). And the coil I didn't even notice during the first run (I'm using VR).

    I have a DD1(Coming from Base V2.5).
I consider it a good upgrade, but, I don't think worth more than double for it. Unless you want do workouts driving your simulator.

Do you think the feel is better with the DD1 or is it similar to the V2.5?

DD1 is faster and has more feel.
But like I said, doens't give you twice.

It's the same analogy between a Gamer Mouse. You can pay $100 for the best of the best most expensive, with the best sensor e etc.
But, in the real life, that good one which costs $50 will give you almost the same precision.

Would it be a considerable upgrade from a T300. I'm pretty happy with the amount of force I already have but would be looking for more accuracy and precision.
