At first I started by only creating the aluminum cockpit, without movement, in profiles of 40mm and 35mm in total 100 euros, counting profiles and screws.

    01.JPG

I started by designing the seat base, an expired FIA fiber backet, from my racing car.

    02.JPG 03.JPG 04.JPG 05.JPG 06.JPG 07.JPG 08.JPG

Designed the backet support, played the turn of the pedal area and the steering wheel holder.

    09.JPG 10.JPG 11.JPG 12.JPG 13.JPG 14.JPG 15.JPG 16.JPG

Before Update 1 the basic configuration was a G27 steering wheel, inverted G27 pedals direct to the aluminum base and 3 27 "monitors.

    UPDATE 2

The next update was to install a 2DOF motion system, based on Arduino, 2 bridges, 24V power supply and 24v wiper motors.

The base is made of steel, and the electronics mentioned, based on the firmware sirnoname for X-sim.

    20.JPG 21.JPG 22.JPG 23.JPG

By the way I installed inverted Fanatec V2 pedals and handbrake, also fanatec.

Since it was "bundled", I took advantage to install 4 bodyshakers, controlled by the soft simcomander.

    24.JPG 25.JPG 26.JPG

The result so far was 2dfo movement, 4 bodyshakers, fanatec V2 pedals, and TSPCRACER steering wheel, combining with Oculus Rift.

    Update 3

In process, it is mainly focusing on making the SIMTOOLS program work, which I think is much better than X-sim.

The fundamental problem is that the x-Sim diagram does not correspond to Simtools, so you have to vary several connections between arduino, bridges and motors.

    IMG_0644.JPG IMG_0642.JPG IMG_0648.JPG

Once the connections have been checked, according to the SCM schema, the code for 3DFO is installed in arduino, and simtools engine is configured, as in the image, I already get movement.

Now to try with LFS and the free plugin and go tuning.

Waiting to be able to have my license "free" .. :p:p:p

    to be continue.......

You will have to wait a bit for a DIY license, re dot point 3 of the criteria, but in the meantime you can use the LFS plugin that ios bundled with the free down load of SimTools to do all of your basic setup and testing:

To qualify for a free license:

    • You must be building a true DIY motion simulator. (Not built from a kit or purchased from a simulator seller, a model simulator does not qualify.)
    • Have a unique build thread or Showcase in DIY Simulator Projects. (The thread should show some effort, which means it should show progress to the testing phase.)
    • Have been a member of the community for at least 30 days.

1 question, if I buy a DIY license, and when I meet the requirement of being in the forum for 30 days, will I have a discount coupon to pass the license to PRO? Thank you

    UPDATE 3

    I present my update 3
I have placed the brackets directly to the backet, with the same pins I already had, but lengthening them with a 12mm threaded tube.
Since it was set to disassemble, I removed the bodyshakers to the outside.
So I can "feel" more left and right sides, I'm still using simcommander, waiting for my license DYV to pass it to PRO and test simtools too for the bodyshakers.

The next update will be to change the wiper motors for more powerful motors.
These work well, but they have a problem, the inner gearwheels are made of nylon and wear out.

Your DIY license has been approved. Upgrading from the DIY to Pro SimTools license can be done by logging into SimTools.us. There you will find an upgrade path for a DIY license to Pro for $29.99.

Try temporarily shutting off the firewall and antivirus, then give it a go.

Last night I contacted support, it seems that it was a problem with the Wordpress update,
I leave the answer, and have already released the update of simtools to version 2.3.1, Solved.

Yes a brand new Wordpress induced bug, thankfully @yobuddy fixed it really fast, having such an involved dev is really beneficial for us all.
