You can get away without motion cancellation on a motion sim with small axis movements, motion cancellation is needed when there are large axis movements like a 6DOF rig.

The other option is you can mount a Rift camera on the rig. High end vibration can affect tracking but for moderate motion it should be fine.

Hello, I tried it before but couldn't play at all because it keeps recentering height. I also tried to disable positional tracking but there was drifting issue :(
    Thanks for the answer though.

I play without it, camera fixed to the chair, no probs whatsoever. Since I have 3 cameras for roomscale, I just switch off the hub with other two, when play in motion. Don't know if this works for Vive, but Oculus is fine.

Just to be clear for the benefit of others, as I had to stop someone from doing it, you can't mount a Vive Base Station on a motion rig, it is not a camera, rather it is multiple lasers with moving high speed precision parts and it will be damaged if shaken about. For the Vive use motion cancellation.

I don't use motion cancellation and have never had any problems with my rift cv1 with my 2dof seat mover,,,i have 2 camera's mounted high up on the wall & everything runs smooth as butter ,,,, was quite a relief after the first time i set it up..

Although when i was using the dk2 i had the cam mounted on the rig and did get the odd glitch with violent seat movements,,not enough to put me off though..

i wish i had my motion rig setup, to determine if i should get vive pro in order to implement motion cancellation.
i plan to setup a 3DoF (yaw pitch roll) rig.. it is stationary, but it could rotate 360 in the yaw axis..
anyone thinks motion cancellation is necessary?

@Youngsoo Cho how many DoF is your setup?
