Congratulations! Very much looking forward to your observations.

From reading other threads it sounds like noise won't be a problem in my setup, so that is out of the equation. But I am a bit concerned with really small range of motion T1000 has compared to DOF Reality, so looking forward to hearing your impressions. Especially, how does crash into wall feels. Is it T1000 3D0F with Dyadics?

There you go Iron Wolf, somebody with experience of the ProSimu.

We should be able to start arguing soon. Lots of "My rigs better than your rig!"

Problem is, it's unlikely to find anybody that has both rigs who can give an unbiast opinion.

I guess it's a case of 'You pays yer money and takes yer choice.'

Did you go for the T1000 with 3 x SCN actuators ? The have a few combinations with AC servo motors now.

I went with just the diadac 2 dof for now. I wanted to add 'just a little motion' to VR sim racing!

    Hi @Onaflyer ,

since you have the T1000 since a month now, I would really like to hear about your experiences! I am going to get the T1000 in steps (Rig, 2DOF, 3DOF) and am looking forward to the project!

    Greetings!

Short answer is........LOVE it! Stop there or waste some time reading my ramblings.

    1. I built a platform for it to raise i t up a bit, so feels like getting into real car rather than sitting on the floor.

    2. Next I could not use it fully because the actuators are LOUD and I race early mornings before wife and kids get up. So I built a couple insulated boxes to go over the ends of the front crossbar to cover actuators( pics and video to come). Put some rubber pads between actuators and crossbar. Now they are quite quiet, can't hear them at all while racing with Rift headphones.

    3. I am working on wire management and seat belt tensioner spring , tried several types of springs but cant get it to feel right.

    4. Learning Simtools and trying to get best settings to make it feel the way I want. I am 99% of time a RaceRoom guy(addicted to it) but it sends some weird motion cues sometimes. In iRacing the T1000 comes alive, much more road feel. So I am working on trying to make Raceroom feel closer to that.

    5. I could go on for pages but for me I am not looking for TONS of motion, mostly just want to feel the road, curbs, braking and acceleration. T1000 and DD wheel, VR makes it a LOT closer to true racing, I actually FEAR the curbs at Imola (not exaggerating). Go too far off the curbs or cut the corner and hit the sausage curbs and you truly feel it in your bones. That was my Holy Shit moment that had me hooked. All cars feel different with the T 1000.

I have been so busy doing house renovations that I haven't had a lot of time get on forums lately.

Thank you for the review, @Onaflyer ! Sounds like fun. And another glowing review of a http://www.prosimu-shop.com/en/ product. I am actually surprised nobody talks of flex/bending of either the steering wheel holder or the pedals attachment. I am obviously no engineer, but they look like they would bend around, yet here you are even with a DD wheel! Excellent! Looks like Patrick from prosimu.com will have another customer as soon as I have moved house!

    Just one more thing...

When talking of the T1000 2/3 DOF with Dyadic 040 100mm rigs including seat, what is the maximum weight you can have additionally regarding wheel, shifter, pedals, simvibe, driver, etc?

The advantage of such configuration is that total load is not relevant too much, as long as you balance the pivot point carefully. I have near 400 lb total weight, after rebuilt by adding a rear seat mover on the top, balanced front load only about 30 lb on each front actuator. The traction loss SCN6 works just fine as well. All 5 SCNs work under pretty low load in this case, and sensation is great.

    Hi joe,

I was curious about the T1000, it seems to me you are talking about the DOF Reality series of seats. Or does the pivot idea also apply to the T1000 systems?

No the pivot idea does not apply to the T1000.

    The T1000 comes in various configurations - 2 actuators, 3 actuators (2 front vertical + 1 horizontal RTL), 4 actuators (4 vertical) and 5 actuators (4 vertical, 1 horizontal).

In the 2 and 3 actuator configurations, it does have a pivot :

    1) Dyadic brand cylinders that are recognized in the world of automotive and aerospace simulation.

They are largely sufficient for our T1000 2 and 3 motions.

The principle of T1000 2 and 3 motion is to use a pivot / balance that supports 90% of the weight of the simulator. We can use fast actuators with little weight to lift.

The choice of a 40kg actuator from Dyadic is sufficient for our T1000 2 and 3 motion simulators, because it keeps a good speed in most cases, which is not the case with 60kg.

Yes, the T1000 2 and 3 both have piovt point. He dose not use traditional socket joint, he uses a movable blade.
Clever design, but arguable in terms better or not.

So is there a weight maximum regarding driver and equipment for the T1000 2 and 3 DOF with dyadic 040 100mm?

Thank you for your responses so far.

I think in am going for dof reality but reading about its fragility makes me worried that I would spend money through the year to get it fixed. Did they improved its resistance ?

Is this update separate from what I would buy?

Also, I am worried about not be able to do a proper calibration
