Check the seating of all cables both ends and the SteamVR and computer sound settings.

Hey Marlon, when people talk about b and c with the Vive, they are generally referring to the Lighthouse setup when running without a sync cable. Those letters show up through the lighthouse lenses and you set them with a button on the back of the Lighthouse.

With no sound, Noorbeast is right - it sounds like your computer settings. Check in SteamVR audio settings and see if you have audio directed or mirrored to the Vive. And with SteamVR running, check the volume level set for the Vive. You won’t see that setting unless SteamVR is running because the computer can’t see the Vive audio without it.

If HTC Vive home audio works but not in app, then probably need to select USB Audio device on your computer NOT HTC VIVE Audio.
I have this same problem on my laptop with the Vive.
