Great to hear you were able to get your project going @jason neville.

When you get a moment please create your own project thread here and post some more details, as I and other members would be most interested: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

Newbie here.... I'm not sure if I will stick with this as I tend to have a lot of projects incomplete at any given time... As my saying goes, "A project is always complete once I've learned it can be completed..." Just my way of saying sometimes it's ok to quit a project mid stream! LOL I have looked at building motion simulators for about 10 years now and now that my son is 14 years old, works part time at a local race track and wants his own simulator I guess it's time to finally see what I can cobble together with old parts.... I've got a decent maker's workshop with a 6090 CNC, 45W CO2 Laser and various wood working tools. Starting to play with some large steppers from a half completed 4x8 CNC build that I ran out of space for and abandoned. Yes I know, steppers are not at all ideal, but I figure if nothing else it should be a great intro into physics / geometry of a rig etc and a good place to get started. With a bit of luck I am hoping my son can score a bunch of old parts from the garage at the race track.

BTW, I once built a fully functional 737 AutoPilot panel for Microsoft Flight Sim, but never tackled the motion simulator...

Looking to have fun at least! Thanks for having me at your party!

    Hello all!

First and foremost, what an awesome community you guys have built here. I see some really bright minds so I can't wait to start getting my own ideas into the mix!

Most of my simulation career has come from sim racing. I started back on Nascar Racing 2003 Season, moved to rFactor and ARCA Sim Racing before finally landing on iRacing. I also dable in Assetto Corsa and Automoblista, as well as flight simulators like x-plane and FSX.

I'm a draftsman by trade, and I have fairly extensive experience in parametric modeling in Autodesk Inventor. The first project you will see here from me is my new custom pedals, which is a heavily modified set of G25 pedals which I intend to convert into a CST/ProtoSimTech style pedal set. Step 1 of the project is already complete thanks to none other than your own Nick Moxley.

Thanks for your time and I look forward to sharing my ideas!

    Hi
I'm new on this forum, I hope this is the right place to present myself. I just placed an order for a ProSimu T1000 3 motions. I know nothing about simulation and very little about video games and computer stuff, thus I have a big challenge in front of me! Help would be much appreciated! My first task is to list all the hard and soft ware I need to run my system. I have bought a licence for Simtools 2 and I plan buying Assetto Corsa. I hope my computer will be able to run the system as I do not plan buying a new one.
Last thing: I'm from France and I'm living in south Brittany (Morbihan department for those of you knowing a little bit of France).
    Best regards

    Bonjour
    Cordialement

    Welcome @Gouffy56.

It may be a new world but you will find a lot of information here regarding all aspects of motion simulation with SimTools.

As the ProSimu T1000 is a commercial rig please use the commercial thread section when asking questions: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/commercial-simulators-and-peripherie.52/

We also have a specific thread section for SimTools commercial Pro and Entertainment license holders: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/simtools-pro-entertainment-version.176/

Have fun with your new rig, motion simulation is an exciting addition to gaming.

You can duel language post but keep in mind it is part of the Forum Rules that you also include an English translation: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/forum-rules.9527/

We do have a French thread which is strictly for social interaction, not sim, SimTools or plugin related questions: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/french.156/

I posted my message in English and French and came up only in French (with a poor translation). Here again in English.

    Welcome @titomaky.

I look forward to hearing more about your project plans.

If you are seeking build, hardware and software information to get you started, then look in the FAQs, it includes things like ground isolating wiper motors: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/

We have a glossary for all those acronyms we tend to use, which will help you decipher some descriptions: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/glossary-of-acronyms-and-names.66/

When you are ready please start your own project thread here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/forums/diy-motion-simulator-projects.22/

    Good luck with your project.

Hello, my name is Pablo and I'm from Brazil.

Since I started playing racing simulators last year I have a plan to build a 2DOF motion simulator platform.

Now I have the best opportunity to put this personal project to work, because it will also be my college final project and if everything goes well it will be published as an academic article.

Since last year I'm reading the forum and I already have a design for the platform. Also I'll be using Arduino UNO R3, but I still have some questions about the other components such as H-Bridges/motor drivers and eletric motors.

I'll be starting my project thread soon, and hope you can help me solve my questions before I start the project.

    Best Regards.

Hello All!. I am Dan from NJ, USA.
I am very excited to see the a 2~3 DOF rig is not crazy expensive to build.
I just ordered a motor and motor driver to get started with testing.

    I plan on building a 2DOF + Traction rig.

    Hey everyone,
I haven’t built a motion Sim yet, but it is on the list, I just put together a little rig to get myself in the door with an G920, a HOTAS setup and an Oculus and now the fun part of trying to figure out the tactile feedback setup....
Looking forward to learning and hopefully paying it forward.
    Regards
    Bill
