    My Motion Simulator:
    3DOF, SCN5
I have a motion simulator with three SCN5. When a start the simulator, the chair initializes, with axis 3a (traction loss) and axis 1a and 2a moving to top and then setting at mid-travel. Start the game and sometimes either axis 1a or 2a won't move. Axis 3a has been consistent. I have tested the connections in all actuators, and they appear to be OK. When I start TBVST, the program recognizes the comports. I click start, and the SCN5 moves . I click stop and it stops. After clicking homing, it homes. If I click start again, there is no movement. If I turn off the computer and restart, sometimes the SCN5's work normally, sometimes it doesn't. Testing with TBVST, when it doesn't start, returns error "axis not found".
    I am stumped.

Are you using the rs485 with the SCN5s?

I don't use SCNs but have you tried swapping boards and usb cables around to see if you can isolate possible problematic hardware.

I am presuming the Actuator IDs are set to zero, but jut want to confirm that is the case.

Thanks for your reply, noorbeast. Yes ID are set to zero. I'll try swapping the boards and cables. If that doesn't solve the problem, I'll remove the connectors in the SCN5's and try continuity while wiggling the connector cables, to see if there are any breaks,
