Just bought the DIY version of Sim tools last night and installed ver. 2.1, I've read through every post I believe and still can not for the life of me figure out why I have no motion. All games are patched and turn blue, all in games settings are set for motion but none have worked.

I've tried pcars 1 & 2 and also dirt rally. I've spent more than 10 hours and I'm all but defeated at this point. HELP!!!! LOL

Do you use a single computer or two?

If you use only one, you do not need to configure ip

Have you tried to move the actuators manually in output testing?

You have not posted your Interface Settings and you need to check those.

The difference from SimTools 1.3 to SimTools 2 in setup is that in the Interface Settings instead of axis defined like this <Axis1> it now has designate grouping for a or b in SimTools 2 for each axis assignment, like this <Axis1a>

In your case each of the Axis should use the a, you will not need b.

I posted the left one but not both earlier. Do I have them set properly?

I also deleted and re-installed everything under Local Disk C instead of the usual Program File (x86) like someone else did with success, but it still not working for me.

Yes you do have them set correctly.

Does your sim move as expected in Output Testing?

Turn the acceleration up half way on you interfaces (scn) for the tests.
You settings have it very very low.
    I think it will help,

Thanks...I have it set lower for smoothness in actuator movement. The higher settings have too much choppiness, grittiness to them.

    UPDATE

I finally got motion........yee ha, yippee, woohooo lol. Not sure how or why but I wasn't able to capture motion before either, but I can now and once I did and save it, the actuators started working in game.

Without motion capture, I had absolutely no movement within the game. I don't recall that happening with the previous ver. but then again that was a few yrs ago.

I don't know if changing drive location made any difference because I also re-downloading simtools 2.1 again instead of just re-installing it, so who knows. As long as it working ....I'm not messing around with any of that at this point.

Boy I got to tell you......that was a lot of work and time spent! I thought things were supposed to get easier with these newer ver.:) lol...... I was even contemplating going back to ver. 1.3 just so I didn't waste my whole weekend on this. But the perseverance finally paid off! And I got to say it also helps to have a understanding wife!

Thanks everyone for all the help!

Hobbs 77 I have same problem I updated to V2 and no movement I have motion in output testing 100% works. In tuning center I have motion cues running but nothing on the actuators I am Dumbfounded .I have spent 10-20 hrs figuring this out. What did you do that made a difference?
I Had v2 working 2 weeks ago kind of, it kept crashing after 5-10 seconds so I uninstalled V2 and Netframe work 4.5 - everything and started over. Now no motion. Im stuck.
    I use Thanos AMC1280 3DOF .
Ians BFF for PREPAR 3d all works 100% - Simtools not so much.

I believe I just removed all of simtools 2.1 and started all over from the beginning. I re-downloaded simtools 2.1 from the site again and re-installed it. Set all the motion parameters for my actuator setup type, patched the game, set the in game motion settings and opened tuning center to capture the games motion.

This time in the tuning center, as soon as the game loaded, the numbers were there and moving where as the 1st time around I had nothing. So once I captured the motion and saved it, I was back in business.

    Hope this helps
