    Hi all,

also new here and I'm shortly introduce myself. I'm Tobi from Germany (near Lake Constance), 44 years old and since 2 month a happy owner from a 3dof seatmover. Unfortunatly some issues left but I think that will be sorted out soon. I use my motion mainly for iRacing and the fun has increased enormously. Here are some pictures, but it's not finalised yet.

So, have a great day guys :)

    Hello All ,

This is such a great collection of people and skill sets it's incredibly inspiring.

I'm Simon, I live on the west coast of Canada in Vancouver, BC. I've gotten into this hobby by building a custom H-shifter and static sim rig with transducers. I'm excited to start with a simple 2DOF rig and see where the world of sim building takes me.

Wanted to thank you all in advance for creating such a community and look forward to contributing to it in the near future myself.

    Hi all,
I have been posting in a few different forums already, but just realized I never intro introduced myself. I'm Connor and I am working with five other students on a 6dof simulator with VR to use with Xplane as a capstone project for our undergraduate engineering degrees. This site has been a great educational tool for our team, and we are still trying to soak up everything we can. You will probably see us asking questions all over the place, and we are very grateful for any and all information passed on to us. Currently we are trying to decide on motors and gearboxes, and I have been unable to locate a forum solely dedicated to either, so I would appreciate if anyone has a great forum link!

    Thanks

    Hi all,

Just joined so posting an introduction here! I'm based in Cambridge, UK and building a 6DOF rig. Wish I had found this forum earlier, such a wealth of information and successful projects.
I have just finished building 6 actuators based on DC motors. Some similarity to several of the projects here but also some new features that might be interesting/useful to others.
Each actuator uses a 1605 ball screw and a 24V DC electric scooter motor. A STM32 microcontroller runs a PID control loop per actuator. I use CAN bus to send position updates to each actuator (each has a unique CAN bus id). This means I only have a single twisted pair to connect up the system (plus 24V power).
Rather than using a potentiometer for feedback, I am using an incremental rotary encoder, so the controller has to find the end-stop of the actuator on startup.
For the actuators themselves I'm using laser cut steel and lots of MIG welding!
I will get a build thread going and include some more details/photos.

    Rob

Flight simulation is my principal goal .

Everything seems to be ok exept no output data visible in the tunning center and virtual axis .

i am also unable to post a thread about my problem for the moment ( 2 more post to go ..)

Hello! My name is Gabriel, from Argentina, South America. Far down :)

I've been simracing for 10 years, currently I solely do iRacing. I don't have any kind of motion system, as there are many things in my simulator that I would like to do first (although buttkickers sound interesting, no pun intended). I have a welded, home-made rig that it's usable, but I've never finished, waiting for some updates that never came. Speaking of that...

I came to these forums by following the Stepper Sim Wheel project, that seems to be awesome, and I hope I can build one of my own. But there are many interesting projects, so I will have to take a long read at the forums, seems there are lots of cool stuff to do! Wish money, shipping and taxes weren't such a problem, lol.

    Cheers!

Hi, my name is Paul and have been a sim racing fan for 11 years, recently decided to build my own 2dof rig which is nearing completion. I have to say it would not have been possible without the help and information on this great forum.

I am having trouble starting a build thread in the DIY section though, it keeps reporting my post as spam, can anyone help me please?

    Many thanks Paul.

sorry for the commercial issue, it was not my intention, today I have been seeing many posts of this forum and I see very interesting material, besides people with whom I would like to speak to reach some mutual collaboration agreement

    Hello everyone,

let my introduce myself, Tanguy, a belgian guy who ordered last week a 3DOF motion sim, for mostly flight sim use and also sim racing

I heard about my new motion rig on this forum so it was mandatory for me to register here! For the news, informations, help that I'll need!

    Hi everyone,

I am Alicante, i am from Spain.
currently i have a structure with a seat, a steering wheel and pedals. I enjoy it so much but i think that it needs some movement so i have decided to make a 2DOF simulator.

I hope that here i could learn how to do it and share my project with you.
