@noorbeast I'm looking at getting some 50:1 gearboxes to avoid them back driving. What did you use make the arms with a keyway in them?

Just so you know I have found that when fully worn in, after about a year, a 50:1 can be back driven, though it does take a bit to do it. In my experience 60:1s can't be back driven.

This is how I attached levers to the key way 60:1s: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/faq/how-to-attach-levers-to-wormdrive-gearboxes.182/

I was concerned that the large hole in the 50:1s could weaken them, so had a shaft custom made: https://www.xsimulator.net/communit...-are-people-mounting-levers.9109/#post-114528

I was thinking more of the 60:1 and i'm having trouble sourcing the keyed sleeve... Which would you buy now? 50 or 60?

Also an update, almost ready to try and test the new SimTools 2.0 as well just have to delete the old and download the new patches etc., didn't quite reinvent the wheel with my system, more just an enhancement - will see how it runs but it will look prettier at least.

For my use the 60:1s are more suitable, for the torque, with the speed being adequate for a compact design.

I am using the 50:1 motors from PGSAW in a compact seat shaker and I can back drive them very easily with my body weight. If you are concerned about it at all I would recommend going 60:1.
