St Helens was one of the first towns in Australia to have the Stage 1 NBN roll out. But sadly I am 7 minutes out of town and not only can I not get the NBN I am stuck on a dicky little spur line that runs through a bunch of paddocks.

The upside is the spectacular view out over the ocean and 2 islands, with plenty of dolphins and the occasional whale passing by.

Sorry @Slider, way off topic, but pretty much so @stevemontuno!

I have a giant 8x4M+ space for the Vive, a separate room for my sim and lovely views where I can amble across the road to the often deserted beach, just lousy net speeds with poor reliability and Xsimulator.net has a pretty fast timeout setting, which I reported years ago as it kills a page loading properly when large images are used: https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/website-timeout-settings.5674/

So true, but it is even more of a pain not being able to access the images at all.

So I have movement! Still a long way from finished.

Got an issue with it jamming on full roll and pitch into a corner it can't recover. Maybe balence point is not right. Have to add pedals and wheel yet so will look at re balancing it then.

I went with the Motion Dynamics 200w 25:1 motors. I think the 50:1 would have been better though, I dont like that they can be back driven so easily.

So I pulled it all apart and took about 50mm of height out of the seat and reclined the seat further, removed the shoulder mounts, cut the frame to allow for more motor arm travel etc.

Will have to find pivot point again and change arm joint locations to suit. Hopefully this will help some of the issues i have been having.

So the re development continues - time to get back to it i was frustrated at it binding up and not working so i walked away for nearly a year lol. I am going to move the motors and try a different setup - maybe give Simtools 2.0 a go.

Mainly around motor placement, I believe that to be my major issue. I will move them up and back closer to the front of the seat I think. I also want to make a stand for the shifter, mount the seatbelts and a few other things.

I have also removed the wheels and lowered the whole system to get better alignment with the screens. Then actually tidy it up and make it look presentable!

I am just trying to understand the 'major issue', is it geometry related or ergonomic?
