Finished - compact 3 DOF with traction loss

    I have a made a change to the mounting of the hall sensor. Previously it was mounted on the motor shaft but I was getting the odd spike in the signal which was annoying. I think the spike was caused by backlash in the gears and a little slop in the linkage all magnified by the length of the lever.

    The sensor now measures the position of the seat rather than the motor position and has completely eliminated those spikes. As a result I have been able to increase the sensitivity of the axis and am really happy with it, even if it looks a little weird.

    @Robdog , sorry for my noob question... if I understand well your traction loss doesn't have a pivot point on front? Only one motor connected on back, right?

    There is a lazy susan bearing at the front under the pedals, the bearing is as wide as the frame so the frame does not rock from side to side. The movement is provided by the motor at the back.

    Thanks. It is worth the effort of adding a heave axis as the sim really seems to come alive when it is added. My traction loss isn't currently working with the latest revision of Simtools and I am living without it but I wouldn't put up with losing heave.
