I have been away from the sim environment for while, but i am back! with a new project.
I have been thinking for a while now about building some diy linear actuators using G180-12 dc motors from "Motion Dynamics" , JRKs A linear Bearing, 800mm of linear rail, and notch belt drive.
The hope is to get about 750mm of usable travel. My new sim design will be driven by 2 of these actuators, giving me about +-150mm for pitch and +_ 150mm for roll.
I also have a few novel ideas on my new sim design which I will share when I make some progress on the CAD drawings.

Must catch up some day noorbeast,
    VR stuff sounds interesting,
    .
Here is what I have in mind for the linear Actuator.
Not strictly a linear actuator in the normal sense, as the out put is on the linear bearing.
It is the simplest an most minimalist way I can think of achieving 700 to 800 mm of travel.
The big test will be to see if the motor has enough torque. Long stroke Actuator.png
