    Thanks @SilentChill, this seemed to do the trick, I also lowered the PWMmax to 140, what did you have the Kp set to on your old rig?

    Cool glad it worked, I had a similar problem and I changed that many things I don't know what fixed it on Fpid 1 lol

    I had my pwmmax set to 190 any higher my psu would trip .

    Kp was set to 450/500

    Well its bin a little wile since my last update, Works been getting in the way, but I'm happy to say that I've managed to find some time to work on my rig!:thumbs

    So the main upgrades are two new front motors that are 200 watt and I've got the rear motors now working.

    So I'm very happy with my progress, the traction loss is incredable!!! :grin
    But I have a question about Simtools @yobuddy, because my motion is coming from a cam, the motion is not linear.

    The mid range of motion is faster than the top or bottom, is there a way of tuning this out in Simtools? :cheers

    I'm not Yobuddy but from what I know there's not a way to tune it out. Instead we generally limit the rotation of our motors to around +/-45 degrees or so, so that it's "approximately linear", at least enough such that we don't notice.

    La solution pour assurer une symétrie de mouvement est ce type de montage quand la manivelle est à la position moyenne :

    De plus on à tout intérêt à n'utiliser que 120° de rotation pour la manivelle, on gane 1/3 de réactivité en ne perdant que 14% de la course totale.
    Moreover, it is of interest to use only 120 ° of rotation for the crank, one gan 1/3 of reactivity while losing only 14% of the total stroke.

    I am interested with wheelchair motor maybe for next project. Quite cheap from ebay.
    How much is weight per motor?i am wandering is it still cheaper option after adds shipping

    Hi DonCorleonez,

    Without taking one of the motors off my rig and weighing I can only estimate, so I would say around two and a half Kg per motor, although when I purchased my motors the postage was free.
    Things to look out for in my experience, if you go for 24v motors you won't pull as much current, also try if you can to go for 200w ones. And you will need to think about cooling them. I've just fitted some fans to mine. :thumbs

    So even though I've uprated my front motors, there still getting a little hot, and in an effort to try not over-engineer a fix, I decided to use my 3D printer to make a fan cowling that bots onto the back of the motor and produces a high speed micro blanket of air across the body of the motor, trial and error no math!!!

    I ended up increasing the outer diameter by 2mm to increase the flow across the motor body, but all in all I'm very happy with the results, the front motor that is seeing a little bit more weight than the other was getting very hot, but now after two hours of Dirt Rally the body of the motor was only at 38C. May need to drill some holes into one end of the motor, in order to get some air to the internals because I get the impression that it's still very hot internally. IMG_4993.JPG
