I ordered some hall rotary sensors for bolt on replacement, but not yet sure if i'm going to use them. I'll try how fast esp12f can keep up as i have quite a few of these lying around. Dedicated counter chip would be the best and most reliable solution.

As far as i know RPi does not work true real time no matter what kernel is used.

I don't have manufacturer link, but this is where i bought them. This is not a paid ad, but i have to say this seller was really keen on best possible customer experience i have ever seen. They actually _called_ me from china to finland, made sure i received my package and that everything was working. :)

Well an update of some sort.. Been waiting for those rotary sensors for five weeks and they did not arrive. Tried contacting ebay seller with no response. Had to make a refund request. Slightly annoying that i have to order them from somewhere else now and wait another 3-5 weeks.. :think

Just wantes to give heads up that it will take a while before next update, but this project will continue!

I honestly don't know. I have built it for a year and did not calculate total cost. Roughly most costly parts were servos and worm drives. Depending where you buy them you can get them under 2000€ total, but if i bought them locally in finland it would have been easily more than 5k€.

Steel plates that hold worm gears were laser cut and they cost only 10€/pcs. We are business partners with that shop hence the cheap price.

Everything else is custom made by me like driving electronic pcbs, bending/welding pipes etc.

I'm planning to release driving electronics schematics, kits or even plug&play boxes if people are interested using analog servos in their builds. Still need to clean em up for manufacturing before doing that.

Thank you very much and here you go with new vid! :) Sound is tiny bit out of sync for some reason.

I think i need to rewrite my arduino code tho. Still noticing some latency with 20ms update rate. I'm pretty sure i can get it <1ms.

    Kuinka voit? @Cartti :)

Did you try to reduce the update rate? Can you share new vids?

Hi friends, mi name is Robert and i´m from the south of Spain. First sorry mi bad english.

I´m new here. I´m sound engineer and producer. If any person here need mi help only say me!!

I like too much this project and i search for build for me one similar simulator for use with Oculus. I´m a big man and for this cuestion i need AC motors, i think is better in the time get strong motors, beacuse with CC the load is too small. I contact with this person in youtube but at the moment imposible get contact with he.

Any person can hel me with any AC motors /control details?? I can view too many info here but i need say about the encoders and few more. really i have one problem and this problem is i´m a busy person and ca´t put too much time over this, for tghis cuestion i think is better the person can help me i can pay by the help.

    looking good !

i wonder if a 6dof is needed when you see how good this design is

how much was each motor / gearbox ?

Get the same feeling as with a 6 dof, am I wrong? very good work and with alternating current.
