I'm currently running a DIY one (just the backrest), which is running brilliantly and no issues so far. I have although slightly redesigned it so that the loads are allot less.

Would love to buy, borrow or rent a GS-4 seat in order to fabricate a copy and run it with a couple of Arduino boards and SimTools :)

SimXperience are working on a new G-seat, the successor will be named "AccuMotion"
Rumors are that it will be launched the second quarter of 2017.

The seat itself is brilliant and it will be hard to find a GS-4 User that doesn't like it or who wants to sell his GS-4. Especially combined with VR, the GS-4 is magic since you don't have to worry about excessive headmovements caused by seatmovers.

I have been running my GS-4 seat for over 2,5 years now without any problems. The only worry is once a servo brakes, you need special software to aline all servos perfectly.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess what I would like to ask though is you had to choose either a 2-dof seat mover or G-seat which would you get considering the cost and effectiveness of each? And if you could get both would they be worth combining considering the additional cost for the added effectiveness, if any? I view a G-seat as mainly a benefit to a 6dof or other type of rig that doesn't use a tilting motion to simulate surge and sway.

and a Gseat can simulate lonnngggg acceleration (what any dynamic xDOF cannot do)!

For me, and I am pretty common in this respect; my flying simpit is huge, many many buttons, switches and levers (F-16 Falcon Viper pit) and so would cost a fortune to add motion to. A G-Seat is a perfect add-on for this type of simpit.

My 2 cents - G-Seat is absolutely must have if you think about getting real with your sims. For me it does better job than any shaker seat. It can simulate gforces that are longer in time. The most important onece are behind the back. I'm very happy that I decided to build onece in my sim and I can recommend it to anyone. Nex step is to use smaller motors to make the seat lighter and more dynamic.

Hi Gorzasty, the last post in your project thread Re G-seat was in April 16 when you were still having configuration issues https://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/2dof-another-in-da-house.6764/page-8, did you sort them out? Agree, G-Seats are a good way to simulate long g-forces, similar to the harness tensioner for long braking forces.

Yes, I sorted out my problems. I use quicker fans - to cool the motors more, and use right values for iRacing. It works good, but... if I had to build another such a thing I wolud choose a little bit different mounting places, etc... there is always some room for improvements ;)

Do You decide what type of motor You want to use in Your project?

for me if i had to choose between g-seat or 2-6dof it will be g-seat without hesitation.

G-seat = no sickness, no shaking head , the pressure on the skin is more accurate and easier to calibrate than motion imo. less expensive to build too.

soon...i will show you my new G-seat..

Hard to knock the advantages of a G-seat - I'll add another - low latency - allot less mass to move around then your typical motion seat. I still although think they are just one piece of the simulation puzzle. Look forward to see your solution to the standard G-seat build.

Hi, Spotted on uk ebay someone selling this seat, complete with wheel, pedals+++ BUT wanting £12000 and stating the Gseat is £10k new, yet this reviewer quotes just $2300 for his "Customised" spec'd G seat.

Unfortunately like a old, but now popular and rare car, that is not made anymore - it is worth whatever people are prepared to pay for it ;).

Guess there hoping to find a rich mug with more money then braincells. :grin
Oh they actually had it listed for £16,000 in an old ebay listing.

They only work on high class mclarens, bentleys and porsches. So must just be use to overcharging, I'm guessing. :grin
