thought id take a quick mock up picture of how it looks. i've only rested the plates on and not fitted the actuators yet. i'm just clearing the room out and getting ready to start assembly. it should be finished on saturday. It was meant to be matt black but i picked up the wrong paint

I think the chequer plate stops it looking as diy and bodged as my first one. i've emptied the room now and the old rig is is bits. im off down the flooring shop at lunch tuesday as they are shut tomorrow to try and find some vinyl in the chequer plate style or something really dark.

it has come out 1200 x 1050 and 350 high in the corners so not that big at all. the top frame over hangs at the front by 50mm.

As you can see i've given up getting the house finished, much to the Mrs disgust lol.

i got the actuators mounted last night, and most of the panels. I am going to drill and tap the top plate though so i can remove it if needed. I will be housing all the cables in side for tidiness. It looked a mess previously. I'm going down the flooring shop at lunch to get a bit of vinyl before i put it in the room hopefully tonight then onto the wiring which wont take long at all.

another quick update before i carry on. I manged to get some cheap vinyl flooring as they had an off cut in stock so just got that fitted. they had black and white chequered so would of been rude not to get it. i should be done in a couple of days hopefully ready for the weekend.

realised i made a balls up on the top frame. the measurement i took before i made it from the old frame was 160mm under the seat to the floor. i actually dropped the wheel base 20mm on this frame, and not only did i forget to take 20mm of the seat base i forgot to take the 25mm off the cut length for the box section it is sitting on so now the seat is 45 mm higher to the wheel than it was before. ive now got to get it back to work and modify it. what a pain in the arse.

well it is all up and running. i have just got to fix one of the side panels, fit the bushes for the underside of the top frame for the actuator ends to sit in which i will collect tomorrow, and adjust the wheel angle and that will do for now. i have another side panel to fit but this needs a hole cut in it for the cables. just waiting to get the pedals and handbrake and get them fitted also but i just want to use it now.

@crammy congratulations to you, amazing work and craftsmanship. Just a quick note about the distance between the seat and the displays, I dunno if it's angle view related but it seems they are too far away from the seat.

Thanks mate. im happy with hour it has turned out. The screens are to far away at the minute. I have got to make 2 new uprights, because at the moment the feet on them are stopping me from pulling them any closer to the wheel. i will order a length of 30mm box section next week. Ideally id like them about a foot from the wheel

i just picked up my nylon inserts from the machine shop round the corner so i will get these fitted when home from work and with a bit of luck have a go tonight, (after ive tidied up the mess in the living area and picked up all the bits of metal from drilling and tapping lol).

Also just had an e-mail from HE and my pedals and handbrake will be here on monday.
