If you are installing on a domain, in which you are prompted to type an administrator password to install software, your APPDATA will be installed to the wrong path. This is a "feature" of windows, not a fault in the software.
Without moving these files, SimTools will crash because it can't find the default plugin "Live for Speed"

Luckily, it is very easy to correct!!!

The installer will copy the appdata to the administrator path:
    c:\users\[admin name]\appdata\local\simtools

that folder will need to be copied to:

c:\users\[profile that you normally run simtools from]\appdata\local\simtools

    Happy Simming!

What happens when you install plugins?
Do you have to move them over every time?

@yobuddy You scared me for a minute because I hadn't checked that! The answer is yes and no, I think... On the domain test machine and non-domain sim machine, I installed all my plug-ins and patched them without running as administrator and everything worked fine. If there is a necessity to start the plug-in updater as administrator then, yes, you would have to do it. My assumption as well is, if you have to run any other sim tools program as administrator, it may not be able to locate the plug-ins you have installed. Also, on a domain, if you ALWAYS type the admin password, or are the domain administrator, this whole issue probably would not apply.

There are actually a few memory hack plugins that need running. One of them is Elite: Dangerous as far as I remember, because you need administrator access rights to read the memory of some games.

I don't have Elite: Dangerous, so I can't comment on that. I may get it soon though!!!
