Hello everyone...need help

    Hello,

    Am a newbie and wamt to build a 2Dof or 3DOF motion flight sim to use it with Xplane11 primary and DCS secondry.

    My budget is 3500$

    I have no engineering background and many abbreviations i dont understand here although i have a friend who is engineer and has many researches in robotics field and he will help me.

    I dont know from where to start .

    First..will it be possible for me to build it with that lack of knowledge?!

    Second..is that budget enough to build an average quailty sim

    Third...may you be kind enough to give me a simple step by step how to build it

    Nb i know of course it will take forever to give step by step explanation ,i mean just outlines

    Your budget is more than enough for a very good rig.
    We can't give you a step by step guide cause there isn't one that fits all tastes, you should at least choose which way to go, if you want a seat mover or a full frame mover, if you want traction loss, what electronic you want to use, what motors and so on.
    I suggest you taking a look at all the projects have already been done and once you see the ones you like, try to follow their way. In a lot of projects there also is the list of the stuff they're using.
    So... invest some (a lot) of time in the forum, and a good place to start from is our FAQ section, that you can find here

    We all started as newbies, but there is a knowledgeable community here who freely give of their time and expertise, so take it one step at a time.

    Your budget is certainly adequate to build a quality 2-3DOF simulator.

    Members post build threads and some are more detailed than others, but rarely are they a step by step guide.

    I already spend sometime reading in forums but was confused by the variety of choices and the abbreviations i dont understand e.g Jrk

    But you are right i think i should spend more time reading the forums .

    a 2 dof platform for example mine ,it is made by three parts:1,2x 12v 360w dc motor and 2x 750w power surply;2,closed loop control system(1x arduino uno,4x motor monster driver,2x 10k potentiometer ,pc software(simtools),arduino firmware(smc3 code for arduino));3,a frame(made up of seat,rods,screw,gimbal etc)
    now your job is find out how to put this things together, the FAQ contains every thing about the threeparts above
