First failure tonight after about 15 hours. Traction loss nuts came loose then snapped the M3 bolt. Will be going to an M4 (M3 all I had at the time) Tons of stress on traction loss.
No damage, motor was just spinning while the pot and shaft sat there.

    Glad nothing got damaged.

It goes to show just how significant the forces involved are, it always pays to over engineer.

Little more PID tuning to tighten things up even more....
Question, Are occasional Motor Driver Errors ok? Not in normal driving, but when hitting a wall of something violent like that. I have my PID's pretty good now, and only get errors when hitting walls or really big curbs.

ya its ok, but your on the edge remember. A few motor driven errors is ok, but the longer the duration of the crash might run that 1 too many error's and shut ya down.

Finally got around to mounting my 4 point.
Really does make a difference in immersion. I tend to lean forward when I drive as I get tense from traffic, so this helps hold me in place. Made a big difference in fidelity in my rig as it transfer more information to me!

A consultation .. the front support for the traction loss, you put it in front of the pedalboard? You might have four wheels, two behind the armchair and others ahead.

Really nice setup. I would like to see your parts list, but it's gone as far as I can see. I was able to find your pivot bearing on a lucky google search on the first try though. :)

Are there "Better" motors than the PGsaw-mill motors we typically use?
    Assuming sticking with the JRK's.

Better is always a relative term. What is it you want to be 'better', speed, reduce freeplay more torque or something else?

The PGsaw motors are a pretty good fit for the JRKs.

If you were looking for better efficiency the DIY linear actuators would likely be the way to go, but with Sabertooths rather than JRKs.

Sorry, I mean basically when my currently motors go bad, a better replacement for these. I am happy with the performance overall. Just looking ahead for a higher quality motor when the time comes

The motors you have should last for years and years under normal use, with just routine maintenance like replacing brushes.

Do you know of a source for brushes by chance?
