You need to post clear screenshots of your Interface and Axis Assignment settings, that are easily readable for members.

You also can't run the SMC utility and SimTools at the same time.

As far as the SMC, I have everything connected and I was getting a sinewave. I would like to explore what I missed on that program as well...after we get the simtools to work

STEPS THAT WE HAVE DONE SO FAR (What did we miss)

Here is the setup of the Moto and the Arduino. I will post the wire diagram another day.

Here is our wiring setup. Some of the connections are split 1 to 2 connectors. Do you see anything wrong with this part?

    THE SOFTWARE SETTING
Please let me know if you see something wrong or missing 20161101_105754.jpg 20161101_105621.jpg This is our screen from page 5 (we selected Default) 20161101_105754.jpg Here we selected SimForce Gt
20161101_110214.jpg Here we selected com 6 (where the arduino is and setup the rest of settings)
20161101_105858.jpg Here is where we ran into our first question.Where do we get the output settings (Setup, interface and shutdown)?
    20161101_110826.jpg
I had problems following the guide from the "under packet rate"section.
    Where are these settings?
    Which value is the 10ms?
    Is it all of them?
    Where is the "speed bar"?
What preset do I use for the interface?
What do I use for the preset?

I appriciate all the help in getting this thing going. Our Motomonster controls 2 motors. Please help me get an understanding on what I missed. The "moving your simulator with mouse" made the sliders move without issues. Help help!

ok i need clear shots of your pinout on both the arduino and monster moto, side shot maybe its difficult at this angle to see.

Ok, I will get a picture of the SMC and write out the pinouts. Is there a better picture of this anywhere? I followed the steps but, a picture is worth a thousand words. I just can't zoom in enough to see where the stuff goes to validate my work.

your wiring should match the diagram exactly.

@bruce stephen, now that is a beautiful picture, I can see all of the connections clearly! You are my hero. Ok I am going to rewire that whole thing again to match the drawing. Then, do we want to work with my settings in Simtools or SMC? I didn't do much in smc but, I followed the whole thing in Simtools.

re wire, then smc3. it has to move in smc3 before simtools

@bruce stephen @noorbeast and the rest of the forum.....We HAVE Motion!!!

Thanks for the drawing, with an up close picture I was able to identify two mistakes in my wiring. We took the SMC3 to the recommended levels an were able to read Voltage. I then took a set of windshield wiper motors and wired them in place of the volt meters. They work!

So, are the two pots connected to the motors on some of the simulator setups? Are they just used as set knobs to position the simulator in how big the motion coming from the motor will be?

    We have MOTION in smc3!!!
Now that we know that the wiring and the hardware work, can someone please assist me on what I am missing from the SIM TOOLS setup? At the top of this post is some pictures of the setup.

Are we setup good so far?

Can someone please clarify on what to do on the last picture (where I have hand written makings) I am not sure what to do with that section. It is the area where I posted these questions:
I had problems following the guide from the "under packet rate"section.
    Where are these settings?
    Which value is the 10ms?
    Is it all of them?
    Where is the "speed bar"?
What preset do I use for the interface?
What do I use for the preset?

Many thanks so far, we are finally getting somewhere.

    Rudy

The written section you posted actually relates to SCN actuators, so is totally irrelevant to what you are doing, as what it describes is only visible if you have SCN selected as the Output Type.

Ok, super I ran the simtools. The only question is in the guide where it says to untick and input the values. Are those values supposed to be at the top or do they replace the values on the bottom that where put in there with the "Capture Max Min"?

    All about the pots

I am so excited that for the first time in 6 months we finally have movement on our motors. So, here is a few questions.

How do you guys set up your follow up pot? Do you connect the potenciometer to the motor by gears or belt? or directly?

    Is there some other way?

Also what if you are using larger motors. Can you split the wiring on the Motomonsters to multiple Motomonsters?

The way I understand is that the pot will provide a signal, when the signal matches the voltage the motor will stop turning until another command is placed in by the input or by a reaction (like hitting a wall).
