I've been given advice by every single person in that list (and others) along my journey to a motion sim.

Maybe they should be called the "Helpful 8" :D

How long has this DIY simulation been possible for the masses?
I only started googling a few days ago, just thinking to myself "I wonder if you can make your own"..... and this community popped up.
Advanced technology is becoming so main stream because of the internet..... the downside is, when the electricity goes out in your house (which it did a week ago for me) I don't know what to do with myself haha

I agree with all the tributes paid by the above posts. I have been a member since the inception of XSIMULATOR (deserted XSIM) and although not quite a newbie at the time, have done several upgrades etc. in the interim aided by info from several of the "Magnificents" and a lot of research on this great site. It's never too late I'm pushing 89 and have seen a lot of water (LAPS) under the bridge so to speak.hug:

I would really like to thank the Simtools developers/plugin maintainers and early trailblazers of this site and hobby. Just a few years ago I would have never thought that it would even be possible to build a fully capable sim in your own home at a reasonable price. I have sat in multi-million dollar sims at my work and to think my sim is now in some ways more advanced then those systems is just mind boggling. A great time to be alive and I look forward to more advancements in the future.

Great times guys I am happy and proud to be a part of this community. I have spent many of countless hours but I do not regret one hour staying here at least. Regretfully I cannot meet many of these guys, they are living around the world, but thankfully to the internet we are a big small family with the same passion. May the force with us ;) BTW @Rastus you are the man of the hour 89 years young and still a "youngster", I show you respect and I would be very happy if I could meet you somewhere in the future (like many guys here). Cheers :cheers

The Xsimulator.net/SimTools community has become my home on net.

There is so much creativity, innovation and talent to be found here, plus a genuinely active and supportive community, which is pretty rare these days in many gaming and simulation groups where trolling and in-fighting is more the norm.

All of us owe a debt of gratitude to those who founded Xsimulator.net and SimTools, you laid the foundation for this wonderful community.

While its nice to be appreciated for attempting to give helpful information to novice diy rig builders based on our previous experiments and experiences of what does and doesn’t work well, I think its fair to say that everyone mentioned above would not be doing it unless they truly love doing so and love this hobby. So the countless hours we've spent is a labor of love and enjoyment.

With that said, I completely agree with the sentiments of SeatTime, Pit, and noorbeast. The launching of this site and the software and plugins required to bring life to our rigs were prerequisites to us obtaining our knowledge for the most part. So thank you is mutual! :cheers

Wow I'm honoured not sure I deserve it though :)

Without the help of a lot of the others and using all their experience and knowledge I couldn't do what I have been doing . I only found this site 2 half years ago and the amount I have learnt is incredible. I didn't think it would be possible to do what's been done. I knew nothing about any of this and I'm on the verge of completing my upgrade with homemade actuators . Living the dream here :D

I have to say a thank you to @Historiker and also @Scratch as their videos on youtube brought me here.

A massive thank you to @value1 for helping me learn the ways of plugin making, I would definitely not be able to make a plugin without all the help he gave me.

Of course can't leave @yobuddy for creating the best bit of software on the WWW thank you too.

And to everyone else who hates me likes me or whatever hug:
