    Here is a small tip: He cooperates with John (planmix) for the development of the matlab washout module... but he uses his own software and hardware interface!

    My fear became true. Everytime the same. The most industrial products are not made for hobiests. That´s sad!
    I estimate, that round about 20% discount is possible, if we tell that the motors are for a non commercial product, or/and when we would buy more pieces of it.

    All told, too much expensive for me :(

    Supporting the motors with damped springs is a nice idea. Imagine, the whipper motors can theoretical lift a mass of 15Kg. Let´s add a damper with 15kg force to support it. Both multiplied with six for a steward platform and that thing should lift max. 180kg excl. the weight of the nacked platform.

    A problem for the motors could be any dynamic change of the loads. For example, due to the missing counterforce, you need for testing purposes without loads softer damper or no damper at all . Otherwise the motors must work with nearly the load capacity of 15Kg per motor when the platform should sink. Nearly because the platform´s basic weight is not included in the calculation. Maybe it would move, but only very slow to the ground direction, and fast to the top.

    But i think that could be worth a try for building a very cheap hexapod platform.

    Nikola, (the guy who built this platform), is the best! He is far front in maths and programming.
    He was very helpful at me, especially with the Matlab communication, and I want to say a big thank you to him for all his support.
    Maybe the next time I'll be in Holland I'll meet him :)

    Is my mind not working or could you hang the entire platform and use wiper type motors to control the pitch attitudes? The only weight problem would be heave or the vertical axis.

    You need powerful and fast motors. If, for example, your weight of the platform with the pilot is 240Kgr, each actuator has to lift 40Kgr, and you need speed 60-100cm/sec so to feel the lack of gravity. If you calculate the accellerations then you have to triple this.
    I designed a low cost actuator that I'll use to my platform, with drive distance 100cm, 70cm/sec speed and load 100Kgr. The cost of this will be about 2000-2500 euros each actuator. The drive distance would be expandable till 1.5m.
    I asked info about prices for similar actuators and they told me a cost greater than 6000euros.

    If you hang the platform you will not have correct motion because there will be much swinging.

    Would it be possible to post some parameters of your 6 dof motion base? Such as, the overall base size,the upper platform size, the length of the motor arms, the lenght of the rods, the spacing of the motors,rods on the base and upper platform.As near as I can tell from your posted video, my estimation of the lenght of the motor arms is approximately 155mm, +/- 5mm.
    I am looking into building a similar base, any help would be greatly appreciated.
    What a fantastic job you have done on your base, its awesome.
