I have just bought a couple of gearmotors with the turning termination like this:

(don't consider the specs of this motor: is only to show you how the connector is!)
How do you fix/block the lever arm (not sure what the tech name is) to it?
By soldering it eventually? With grains?

    Thanks!

For sure it was my fault :p

I noticed that the pic i posted is not 100% representative being that it miss the axial thread. Here is a more clear image

Consider the shaft of left article, not the right one

    Thanks!!

PS: could anyone correct the title of the topic replacing "harm" with "arm"?

    many thanks!

Apart from this, any advice? Are you all using "though hole" wipers motors?

I want to attach a lever to a wiper motor with the "key" i showed in post #2. Not sure what confused you ...

Anyway, that FAQ says essentially that i should use a rigid coupling with grub screw (what i used to call inappropriately "grain").

Cannot see a 'Key'? in your second picture = confusion - what is 'inappropriately grain' = confusion. Also noticed no thanks, just a 'anyway' for the link and advice to explore the project threads (its all in there including solutions that don't use a grub screw - yes you actually have to do some work). Good luck.

There's no feeling hurt, Just realize we aren't going to Road map your Rig build for you, there's certain thing's you Really need to figure out on your own, Especially when you try different motor's or mounting methods than have been tried tested and true.

As other have said, You should familiarize yourself with the Project threads and take a look around at what other user's have built and how they went about it. Most project threads have all the pictures and details you could ask for. You just have to look.

the FAQ also has a Tonne of info if you take the time to look through it all.

FAQs have a ton++ of info, i agree, but sometimes having someone "expert" giving you a good advice helps more than spending hours on topics that could be related, but could also not be.

An active community should give targeted support from an higher point of view with respect to newcomers, or all reduces to say "hallo" and link to other threads.

I agree wholeheartedly with @Nick Moxley, I'm continually appalled to see requests for info that's already available with a little research here on the forum. They can't spend the time themselves, do they realize that they are wasting other peoples time answering inane questions doing this?? No just want everything handed to them on a plate. @noorbeast has the right idea when he just refers them to the relevant FAQ.should be more of it. I don't know if they exist, but I've never seen a wiper motor that didn't have a tapered splined shaft, please show a picture of the actual wiper motor you're using, not another motor, I'd be interested. That's my 2 cents worth.

I reckon i must of put 100+ hour's searching this forum inside out for info in the first two weeks of February when i decided i was going to build a motion rig ,,,, after that i was pretty clued up on what i needed to do and loaded with cool idea's ,,,,

Not only that when you read through other peoples build threads you see what problems they ran into and how they solved them , which is great for not making the same mistakes as them and also will make your build pretty stress free .

I edited post #3 because of your quote: I added some shouting, supposed you had lost, so rolled back.

Anyway, stop wasting your time in this topic and be of any help to other users with your links.

Oh dear... We all volunteer our time on this forum and give freely of advice when the needs arise. Language barrier aside, your posts are just plain rude @outrunner

    Ask yourself this..
In real life would you walk into a room of engineers, plonk a motor on the table (not even the motor you are actually going to use) blurt out some random question, again not related to the motor on the table, and then stand there expecting a polite response?

Keyboard warriors annoy the b'jezuz out of me!

I am not a keyboard warrior. I browsed the projects subforum before posting and didn't found the answer to my question, this is why I posted. I then asked for a solution up of the mind of a "more expert" point of view and got a link to a FAQ that do not help a lot. Then, instead of a nice advice or a more direct link to a possible solution, someone here shouted that i was expecting you to come over and turn every nut and bolt for me... this is not really what i call a warm welcome.

Again, keep up that attitude of yours
