Prepar3D 3.4 has native VR support, so is FlyInside still relevant given you have to pay for it: https://flyinside-fsx.com/Download

Native VR support doesn't always mean better or even comparable functionality. Prepar3D's native support is basically two camera views, there is no stereo rendering optimization and possible input options like using LeapMotion for input control. But for some users, Prepar3D's native support is smoother on the Oculus Rift.

Currently these are the features FlYInside offers that native does not...it is up to you to work out if it is worth it:
    • A VR user interface - Change aircraft, locations, simulator settings, all from inside your headset
    • Mouse Cursor with depth, in VR. Click your cockpit switches/dials/buttons without taking off your headset
    • Gaze-look Interaction - Want to move your flaps, adjust auto-pilot, etc? You don't even need to take your hand off your joystick. Just look and pull the trigger (or your button of choice)
    • Leap Motion support. Reach out and press buttons/flick switches/move levers with virtual hands. Haptic glove support coming eventually :)
    • Virtual windows - View charts, PDFs, videos, all inside the cockpit around you
    • More efficient stereo rendering
    • Asynchronous Timewarp: Makes VR comfortable at frame-rates as low as 30fps. (Super important on Vive; less so on Rift)
    • Binocular zoom - Convenient bindable functionality to quickly zoom in and out, reading small controls
    • VR SLI support
    • Adjustable settings - Configure resolution, AA, etc
    • Cockpit shimmer elimination - Clearer more solid image
