I've been browsing this forum off and on for the past year and finally decided to take the plunge. I plan on keeping this thread up to date with as much info and as many pictures as I can to hopefully make it a one stop shop for all future first timers.

I've done a bit of pre-gaming with some earlier threads (thanks to all of those who have already helped!). I expect I'll have some future specific threads so I'll keep those linked in this post along with the threads I find that answers questions:

Is there anyway to remove the shaft from the motor and reverse it? I have the motors from pgsaw on ebay.

You can easily knock out the rivets, split the gear case and turn the shaft around, then bolt it back together. I am pretty sure others have had no issues with doing that, but I did have problems with a 60:1 gearbox where I reversed the shaft.

    More progress...

I had a hard time reversing the motor shaft. I couldn't bang it out for the life of me. I ended up having to rent gear puller which did the trick.

    7/25/2016 - Finished the frame
8/2/2016 - Got the motors mounted to the frame

Any links to how this was done Noorbeast?

I'm very much in the planning phase of my sim upgrade and would like to incorporate this mod in my design.

I had screws where noorbeasts rivets were so it was just a matter of unscrewing the case and opening it up. The hardest part for me was getting bearing off of the shaft which is where the gear puller came in handy.

Big milestone today. Finished off the levers on the motors. All major welding is done.

Next step, clean and paint the frame.

What is the Center To Center distance on the levers, it looks pretty big?

Center to center is 3.5 inches. Should it be shorter?

That is about 90mm. By all means try it, but if the motors struggle at all then try around 60mm.

    - Frame all painted
    - POT mounts created (used some 1/8in aluminum and twisted it, cut down the hex drive screws and connected the two with some rubber tubing to create these)

Unfortunately I fried one of my JRKs so work is on hold until the new one shows up.

    It's alive! Next steps

    - Clean up the wiring
    - Create protection for the JRKs
    - Mount power supplies and JRKs to a solid base.
