Given the impact I say he was exceedingly lucky and missing a race to recover is a small price to pay.

    Vettel used a nice metaphor:

“Put it this way, if you sell vanilla ice cream but everybody who comes to your shop is asking for chocolate ice cream
The next day you open you expect to sell chocolate ice cream but instead you just sell vanilla again.
Usually you do what your clients would like you to do but you are not really doing the job if you do the exact opposite. It’s something we can’t be proud of”

Interesting 2nd race of the season in Bahrain. I think we can officially say Nico Rosburg is the dominant driver in F1, not Hamilton. Rosburg winning a race or two over Hamilton could just be a matter of luck. But 5 wins in a row is hard to argue with. Have to wonder what would have happened if Vettel had been able to run the race.

Haas showed that maybe they won't win a race, but they certainly are competitive. Grosjean is sitting 4th in the points standings! Ahead of one Ferrari and tied with the other! Really impressive stuff.

Crazy race in China! No change up front with Rosburg getting an easy win to make it 6 in a row. But all kinds of action going on behind him made it exciting to watch. There is something about China that makes it a good track for passing and close driving.

Who would have guessed that Rosburg's 7 race winning streak would be broken by 18 year old Max Verstappen, in his first race in a new car with a new team?!

Huge day for Red Bull. Horrible day for Mercedes, but maybe even worse for Ferrari. Without the crash, Mercedes could well have gone 1-2, and is still the team to beat. But with Mercedes out, Ferrari still couldn't win. Now with Red Bull showing they are at least as good even before their engine upgrade, just getting a driver on the podium is looking like an uphill battle.

The standings points stay with the driver, so even though Verstappen and Kyvat changed teams/cars, their point totals includes races for both teams. Verstappen jumps all the way to 6th. Even with zero points, Rosburg still has such a huge lead even if he gets a zero in the next race also, he will still be in the lead.

I think whats more crazy is that there's been 10 different weiner's in 10 years at that track. That has to be a One Off statistic you would think.

In my opinion the best thing this year is the posibility of the use of three types of tyres on the race, it gives more changes and variety. But the new clasification system sucks. Fortunately they decided to came back to the old system...

Nothing against Hamilton and Rosburg. But it certainly makes it more interesting when they are out of the race. I was pretty happy to see them take each other out.

It was definitely more exciting without Mercedes. I'm excited to see how Verstappen performs next race.

what´s wrong with Vetel this year? Raikonen second and Ricciardo almost get the third position. Maybe Ferrari can´t find the way?

Shame the Ricciardo´s pit stop, It was time for a not Mercedes winning car. Congrtulation to Alonso 5th with a Mclaren. Sorry for Verstapen but the Helmut Marko´s face at the moment he crashes have no price...

Anyone think RedBull can keep it up? Canada is a much bigger track where top speeds matter more. I hope it doesn't become an all Mercedes and Ferrari show.

Agree, monaco was a different thing. The chasis is very important, and with rain mauch more. Canada is for the mercedes engine and maybe ferrari.

Finally boring race on Canada, in my opinion. Awesome race start for Vettel but better strategy for Hamilton. The only thing to highlight is the nice work of Verstapen stoping Rosberg. I think he have a lot to say this year on Red Bull
