In VR you need to render two different images to two different screens at very high FPS, which should be maintained. It is very hardware intensive and very different from a single monitor where some dropped frames in some places don't really matter.

Oculus uses Asynchronous Time Warp and Valve use Reprojection to help manage the intense requirements.

4k VR at high settings that matches a monitor is still a fair way off.

OK, I got the point that PC spec still far to go around VR.

I'm curious about Oculus ATW and Vive Reprojection,
cuz I cant find any Chinese info, and I cant read too difficult English.
are those tech simply means: I'll get 90FPS if my PC is OK to render at high graphic setting.
if it cant keep 90FPS even cant do 45FPS, I'll get 45FPS in my VR device, right?

This is more a VR related question and needs to be in a different section, so I did a summary here: http://www.xsimulator.net/community/threads/summary-oculus-atw-and-steamvr-reprojection.8645/

I've picked up the 1080 a few days ago, beast of a card.

I haven't done any benchmarks yet (downloading VR benchmark now) but it has been holding up well.

There have been some minor hiccups with the Nvidia graphic drivers for it. I've also had some issues with games running in Unity (vs. Unreal). I'm on an AMD set up and will do an upgrade to an Intel set up.

For you iRacers with 1080's and VR...how high can you run the per pixel setting in the app.ini file before you start to dip below 90 fps too often?
