Hi there again, I believe I am to post builds here, so this is what I have got so far
    boot-page-001.jpg
After extensive reading and some ideas, this is what I have. Final measurements are not yet worked out, but its a start.
I am needing a compact simulator, so I have come up with this idea.
It will compact up when not needed, so I am looking at building my own folding seat. I have seen plywood used with home made covering.
The wheel mount post will be adjustable up and down and the pedal mount slide-able back and forth. Still working out where to hang the shifter, off the side somewhere I guess.
Oh, I have a G27 set up currently.
And the seat folds down so its all flat, sort of.
Not sure how yet to make this up. I can weld and have done projects with robotics a bit for the local youth centre, so I have a few ideas on how to go about it.
I happen to have a tailshaft here from a wrecked car, so thats the uni joint pivot thing covered. (From what I read)
As said, Im going the JRK - motion dynamics motor route. I saw good info from @eaorobbie about JRKS, so I will read some more.
I will submit more as I go.
    Regards, Andrew.

Heres what im thinking. A home made seat that folds like this.
I have plywood , jigsaw , I could modify a few castors to act as side hinges.....

I know you plan to build your seat but thought you may find these and interesting comparison, where the race style office chair has the back fold down, I just added a simple quick release screw so it folds.

    Interesting.....@noorbeast
However ive just packed up for the arvo and already started cutting out plywood. :)
That and the ply , castors , padding , etc is all here. So all it costs me is time and I have time off to do this
Sure I could buy something but I enjoy a good tinker.
Its also handy the 2nd top DIY sim builder in the country ( from what hes shown me ) and learned from the no 1 builder being @eaorobbie
I will upload pics tomorrow arvo as I intend to get this seat done.

Ah. That one. Yes I remember now....too many late nights net surfing...
Nice sim. Mines not going to be looking that fancy considering the lack of tools to build.
But hey , for a 1st motion ride it should look neat.
Im using materials as suggested by @bsft and he is guiding and helping. Hes shown me he previous stuff and I am impressed at the build quality. Even if its mild steel and MDF.

20151120_120620.jpg well its been a busy morning. I cut out a 12mm thick plywood seat. Ive used modified castors to act as side hinges. Ive yet to pad and cover it.
Just getting started before I go back to work next week.

Righto, final work for the day, I welded up a frame like @bsft desk racer, so motors will be out the front and not underneath as I need to keep this thing sitting low
    20160104_115734.jpg
Also I padded the seat frame with carpet underlay, its quite firm and I put a seat cover over it and stapled it into place. Simple but effective, pointless cutting harness holes, but hey, its covered

Thats it for at least a week or so, until I get time to get back into it.
Im in the process of measuring up a frame for the motors to sit on, as well as some form of adjustable wheel and pedal mount.

well I got the frame welded up today, a few mods to do to it yet, the wheel base extends out and in to keep compact.
I took it to @bsft for him to check, got 5 thumbs up

Phew! What a day! Nothing like 7 hours to get things done.
Thanks again to @bsft for allowing me to use his tools and garage.
    Got a lot done today.
I picked up the motion dynamics motors during the week as well as wood , rod ends , brackets.
Got carried away and almost forgot to take photos.
Made the rest of the frame including wheel stand which adjusts up and down and held with a adjust. Also added a removable shifter mount , welded adjusters on extendable pedal mount. Cut and welded a tailshaft pivot. Made 40mm CTC levers and rod arms. Cut and screwed on mdf sheet. Started painting and nearly forgot to take photos....hahahaaa
Thats majority of work done. Ran outa money to buy JRKS and power supplies.
    Car rego is due....dammit....
Hopefully will do more next week or so.
    Cheers , Andrew.
