    "And speaking of “ringing-in” the new year, as you may have heard, iRacing will be releasing both the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife and GP-Strecke in the new build. So to help everyone learn their Flugplatz from their Pflanzgarden, once the new build is released we’ll be running the Nordschleife Tourist Hot Lap Competition once the new build is released. A solo, single lap qualifying for GT3 cars using the Nordschleife’s “Tourist Configuration,” you might call the Hot Lap Competition a Week 13+ Series as it is slated to run for six weeks, with 20 minute sessions starting every 10 minutes."

    I am not really in to competitive racing but the hot lap challenge at Nords is so tempting...it would be interesting to compare against RSR Live Timing with Assetto Corsa!

    time trials are another way to enjoy Iracing without other vehicles on the track. Also remember the track is not free. Not sure off the top of my head how much. on the upside it's laser scanned so it's accurate to within a few mm. Also they use real world driver input to try to get the feel of the track, the times are off compared to real world at most ovals. I see a number of guys enjoying this track on AC so I figured this may interest some. But I do see how paying for the service and track rights can seem like a waste for one track compared to One time pay to play games. I'm a redneck and don't do well other than going in circles so I haven't even tried it on AC. I like Laguna seca, Sonoma and Watkins Glenn but in 15 or so years I haven't bothered to learn more road courses.

    I am guessing the long term cost/benefit may be with AC + RSR Live Timing for hot lapping, at Nords and elsewhere. Even so they are both accurate recreations of a very challenging track, so it would be interesting to try both and compare times.

    dx 11 coming soon i guess. the service is processor heavy at this point. people bulk up on vid power and memory and it doesn't make much of a difference. At the same time adding cars only increases load a small amount. also anything over 70 frames is wasted on me I cap it at 70fps. his framerate looks fine not sure why he has the mirrors off. would be interesting to see the difference. i see no change on my end.

    but heres the kick in the teeth... norde=14.95
    strecke=14.95
    mclaren mp4-30=11.95

    more than i paid for the whole AC game, it is a little ridiculous.

    I am a little curious as to how the VR development is going with such fps constraints, as you get bad judder in VR if you can't maintain very high fps.

    not sure about vr. I won't be spending that much money on the track. I get iracing for 50usd a year. At least they haven't charged us for rescans, they rescanned a few tracks due to real world changes.

    I have six core amd and a gtx750 2gb video card. 16 gb of ram. Win 7. I can get around 100 fps. With a decent intell processor I could improve it.

    For me, best track ever in simracing. I love Nürburgring of Iracing.
